On May 15, Beijing Women's Federation held a fellowship activity themed on "Learning Folk Craft, Feeling Chinese Culture - Chinese and Foreign Sisters in Beijing  Spending International Family Day Together" at Maizidian Street Community Service Center in Chaoyang District. The Oman ambassadress, foreign students in China and foreign women working in Beijing from countries such as the UK, Australia, Zimbabwe, Central Africa, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam gathered together to celebrate the International Family Day. Smart Lady (female artisans) from districts such as Chaoyang and Yanqing showed the guests elegant handicrafts and taught them on site folk skills such as weaving, cloth sticker, silk flower, paper cutting and bean plastic painting. Sisters both at home and abroad learned and made them together on site with great interest. In addition, Chinese calligraphy and painting shows also stimulated the interest of foreign guests who fully praised the profound Chinese culture. The Oman ambassadress, Saadi, said she has learned many interesting traditional Chinese arts and hoped she would have a chance to attend similar activities in future.
