Federation Holds Ceremony to Celebrate Achievements of Women in Beijing

Beijing Women's Federation held an awards ceremony at the National Theater on March 1 to honor women who had made outstanding achievements.
 
The activity was based on the theme of "Following the Party's Leadership, Making contributions in the New Era".
 
The event praised collective and individual winners of the national and the Beijing's March 8th Red-Banner Award ahead of International Women's Day (March 8).
 
During the gathering, children recited the Song of Mulan, along with the help of Meng Man, an associate professor from Minzu University of China, who is also a delegate of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
 
The whole activity had four parts, which took themes of "Beginning of a New Era", "Warmth in a New Era", "Development in a New Era", and "Missions in a New Era".
 
Those awarded as Beijing's March 8th Red-banner Award winners included local tax bureau official Ma Qiurong, who has been taking care of her father-in-low for eight years whilst she fulfilled her duties in work; Yang Qiuju, who overcame many difficulties to establish a nursing home. Wang Ning, deputy mayor of Beijing, presented awards to them.
 
Renowned artists Chen Duo and Sun Guitian recited a family letter from a winner of Beijing's "Most Beautiful Families".
 
Party secretary and president of Beijing Women's Federation Cai Shumin presented awards to two groups for their services to local women, alongside Liu Hanchen, a representative of the National Civilized Families.
 
Beijing's synchronized swimming team won the National March 8th Red-Banner Collective Award. The swimming team has topped for the seventh consecutive year in the National Games, and has won over 80 championships.
 
Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaoyuan, director-general of the Publicity Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), along with Deputy Secretary of Beijing municipal government Yin Peiyan presented awards to the synchronized swimming team and a group of tech researchers from the Beijing Natural Science Foundation.
 
Female representatives of startups in north China's Tianjin Municipality and Hebei Province interacted with people present to promote the coordinated development.
 
Others awarded included Wang Kerong, head nurse from Beijing Ditan Hospital, and Liu Li, chief judge of a court in the Olympic Village of Chaoyang District.
 
The event concluded with a song by a local family choir.
