The Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) holds a group study session on Party history, March 15-16.

 

The Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) organized a session to study and discuss Party history on March 15-16, during which participants attended group learning, watched a film on Party history and conducted discussion.

 

Members of the leading Party members group of the BWF, director-level leaders and heads of functional departments and affiliated public institutions attended the learning campaign.

 

During the self-study part, participants reviewed books compiling the thoughts of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), former Chinese Party leaders' thoughts about Party history, and Q&A about Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

 

Participants also watched a film on Party history produced by the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC (National Academy of Governance). Xie Chuntao, vice-president of the academy, gave a lecture on why CPC is able to be the leader in China's development. Luo Pinghan, a professor, talked about the history of the Red Army led by Mao Zedong and Zhu De and the Gutian Meeting. Professor Gao Zhonghua reviewed the Zunyi Meeting and the Long March victory, both important historical events of CPC.

 

During the discussion, five participants delivered speeches on doing a good job on women's causes based on the knowledge learned from Party history education. Everyone agreed that the study further deepened their understanding and perception of the Party's century-old history and of the achievements of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context, especially the Xi Thought.

 

All participants believed that they should use spirits of Xi's important speeches and Party history education organized by women's federations as guidance to their work and strengthen their conscientiousness and confidence in improving the high-quality development of women's work in Beijing.

 

Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the BWF, made a summary speech. She pointed out that it's of great significance to learn Party history on the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, which will help strengthen BWF's traditions and unite women's power in the new journey of development.

 

Women's federations at all levels in Beijing should better carry forward the red gene by further learning the important speeches on women's work made by Xi and seek high-quality development. They should mobilize Beijing women to make contributions to the construction of Beijing as a world-class livable city, added Zhang.

 

Zhang made an instruction for the following learning campaign. She emphasized the importance of implementing it under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and urged to strengthen organization to ensure the targets of learning realized based on a strict standard.

 

She stressed that the campaign should be carried out according to the plan of organizing the Party history learning and education among women's federations in Beijing and should be led by BWF's Party history learning and education leading group. Departments and units should fulfill their duties and forge synergy. Self-study and group study are both important and Xi's important speeches, especially the one he made ahead of this year's International Women's Day, and other learning materials should be studied carefully. Innovative methods should be adopted, including carrying on publicity and education activities among women, organizing lectures on Party history, making better use of historical sites of the Party in Beijing, and conducting history education to women, children and families.

 

Zhang also arranged work to solve practical problems of women and provide women's voluntary services. She said themed meetings should be held to conduct Party's nature analysis and the results of the learning campaign should be transformed into achievements in women's development as an effort to celebrate of the Party's centenary.

 

During the same period, the Party branches of the BWF also carried out Party history learning through a combination of self and group study.
