Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a meeting on March 29 to convey the guiding principles of a conference among departments under the direct leadership of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), sum up its work on exercising full and rigorous governance over the Party in 2022, and make arrangements for key tasks in this year.

 

Beijing Women's Federation holds a meeting to promote the work on the strict self-governance of the Party.

 

In her speech, Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Group and president of the BWF, said that it is of utmost importance to ensure that the CPC practices strict self-governance in every respect, especially as 2023 marks the first year to comprehensively implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress. She stressed that women's federations at different levels across the capital should thoroughly study and act on the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, acquire a deep understanding of the significance of the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, as well as the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. They should also uphold Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and uphold the Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership; bolster the political and organizational functions of the Party branches, raise the quality of Party-building work, fulfill principal responsibilities to exercise strict self-supervision and self-governance of the Party.

Zhang called on all CPC members and staff workers of the BWF to study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, fully comply with policies and decisions by the CPC Central Committee and the Beijing Municipal CPC Committee, make full use of political guidance and guarantees exerted through the full and rigorous governance of the Party, maintain a high spirit and morale and, push for the practice of strict self-governance in every respect, and strive in unity with women from all social sectors to help the capital city secure a good start in becoming the country's first city in achieving socialist modernization.

The meeting also released a list of specific tasks and requirements for exercising full and rigorous governance of the Party and several documents concerning Party-building, discipline inspection and the work of labor union for this year.

Wei Jiang, vice-secretary of the Leading Party Group and vice-president of the BWF, presided over the meeting. Those in attendance of the event included Wang Yan, head of a working group at the Beijing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions from the Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Beijing Municipal Supervisory Commission, other officials on bureau level from the BWF, and heads of all public institutions affiliated with the BWF.
