Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a meeting on April 14, to stress work on carrying out the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The meeting called for acting on discourses by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping and key instructions by the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

President of the BWF Zhang Yajun, also secretary of the Leading Party Group and head of the leading group on the theme education campaign of the BWF, attended and addressed the meeting. Wei Jiang, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group and vice-president of the BWF, moderated the event.

In his speech at the conference, Huang Saixi, chief of the sixth steering group on the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era from the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, said that BWF should closely follow keynote instructions by General Secretary Xi, as well as the decisions and requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, enhance its sense of mission and responsibility in the organization of the theme education campaign, outline specific goals, tasks and measures, and strengthen the organization and leadership of the campaign. Huang added that the steering group will fulfill its obligations in guiding BWF’s Leading Party Group to promote the campaign with a high standard.

The meeting noted that carrying out the campaign across the whole Party is a forceful measure to implement the strategic decisions made at the 20th CPC National Congress, and a major decision to thoroughly undertake the great new project of Party building in the new era. The education campaign is of vital importance for all Party members to rally closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core and accomplish their mission as well as tasks on the new journey in the new era. The important speech by General Secretary Xi at a meeting on the education campaign has expounded the significance, objectives and requirements of the campaign from the strategic height of the Party and country's cause and provided fundamental guidance on the implementation of the campaign. In his speech at a conference, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee Yin Li said that the capital city must earnestly follow discourses by General Secretary Xi, carry out the campaign in a high-quality manner, and write a glorious chapter when it strives to be one of the first to basically realize socialist modernization. The All-China Women’s Federation urged all women’s federations to study and implement the important speech by Xi and to ensure that practical effects are achieved the education campaign.

The meeting said that BWF and local women's federations must thoroughly understand the importance of the campaign, enhance their political and ideological awareness and action in the implementation of the campaign, strengthen self-education with the CPC's new theories, acquire a deep understanding of the decisive significance of the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, as well as the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, boost personal consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership, stay confident in the path, the theory, the system and the culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, firmly uphold Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and uphold the CPC Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership, grasp the realistic necessity of conducting the education campaign in achieving the goals and tasks outlined at the 20th CPC National Congress, guide and lead Party members and cadres from women's federations to yield concrete results in the study and implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, integrate the education campaign with the exercise of full and strict self-governance in the Party, advance the education and guidance of Party members and cadres from women's federations, and facilitate the high-quality development of women's federations through high-quality Party-building.

The meeting stressed that BWF and local women's federations must strive to be a pacesetter in the implementation of the campaign, intensify theoretical learning, stick to the principles of reading original Marxism publications and acquiring the essence of Marxism studies, relate the work of women's federations to the study of discourses by General Secretary Xi connected with the work on women, children and women's federations, firm up their Party nature and carry out in-depth investigations and research, adhere to problem-oriented development approaches in tackling pressing and urgent issues detrimental to women's development and the reform of the women's federations. Federations should also turn the results of the education campaign into the effects of their work and bolster the competence of all Party members and cadres of women's federations, help the public see positive changes brought about by the campaign, and set up long-term mechanisms to consolidate achievements in the education campaign.

The meeting emphasized that BWF and local women's federations must fulfill their duties, place higher priority on the campaign, abide by the decisions and requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, strengthen publicity efforts for the campaign, and forge greater momentum for learning and the accomplishment of all tasks.

Those in attendance of the meeting included other senior officials of the BWF, CPC members and cadres from the BWF and its subordinate public institutions, and Chang Hongxia, a delegate to the 20th CPC National Congress, a recipient of the Beijing Municipal March 8th Red-Banner Medal and a bus driver from Beijing Public Transport.
