The program aimed to actively explore and enhance mechanisms that strengthen the role of family education and family virtues in grassroots governance while ensuring the successful preparation of Beijing’s “15th Five-Year Plan” for guiding and advancing family education. More than 60 participants attended the event, including responsible officials from district-level women’s federations and key members of social organizations involved in family and child-related work. Chen Yanping, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a mobilization speech.

During the training, several experts delivered thematic lectures, including Song Yueping, Party Secretary and Deputy Dean of the School of Population and Health of Renmin University of China; Nan Fang, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Comprehensive Governance, Beijing Academy of Social Sciences; Wang Haiping, Head of the Department of Basic Education at the School of Education, Open University of China; and Liu Meng, Director of the Gender Studies Center at Zhejiang Normal University. Their presentations covered topics such as “Theoretical Foundations, Policy Evolution, and Practical Approaches to the Participation of Family Education and Family Virtues in Grassroots Governance,” “How Women’s Federations Can Better Fulfill Their Role in Promoting Innovation in Family, Family Education, and Family Virtue Building,” “Final Evaluation and Future Directions of Beijing’s Five-Year Plan on Family Education,” and “Strategies and Pathways for Innovation in Family and Child Work—Taking the Loving Mothers Care Service Project as an Example.” The sessions integrated theoretical analysis with practical insights, further enhancing participants’ comprehensive capabilities in family and child work.

During the training, representatives from district-level women’s federations discussed emerging challenges, issues, and opportunities faced by grassroots organizations and exchanged experiences and best practices. The women’s federations of Chaoyang, Shunyi, and Tongzhou districts shared their unique experiences and approaches in promoting initiatives such as the Loving Mothers Program, community parent schools, and family virtue cultivation. The Family and Children Department of the Beijing Women’s Federation also summarized key departmental tasks and outlined plans for the next phase of work.

Participants noted that the training closely aligned with the theme of family and child work. It also featured compact and diverse sessions. The training enhanced their theoretical understanding, broadened their professional perspective, and enriched their practical experience. They highlighted that the program provided clear guidance and practical relevance for effectively concluding this year’s work and systematically planning for the next year.
