Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) launched a training session for its newly recruited employees and young staff workers in Beijing Women Cadres School on September 1.

The two-day training session had the following objectives: thoroughly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, act on the spirit of the 13th Beijing Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), foster high-caliber cadres, strengthen capacity building of young officials in serving women and children, and meet the demand of the work on women and children in the capital city.

The training event brought together nearly 30 newly recruited workers, those with a provisional post and staff members younger than 35 from BWF and its subordinate public institutions.

During the training, Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and President of the BWF, delivered a report about how to implement the spirit of the 13th Beijing municipal Party congress and promoting the work on women and children in the new era, via video link. The report helped trainees understand Marxist concepts about women, the state policy of gender equality and have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of Beijing's cause of women and children in the new era.

Staff workers from the BWF Women's Development and Research Center, the BWF Department of Grassroots Organizations Development, and the Beijing Municipal Working Committee on Women and Children gave an interpretation of BWFs action plan on the implementation of the development plan for women's federations during the 14th Five-Year period (2021-25) and its action plan on the implementation of a general reform plan of women's federations, and a plan for the development of women and children in Beijing during the 14th Five-Year period (2021-25). Representatives from the BWF Department for Women's Development, the BWF Legal Department and the BWF Department of Women and Children's Affairs briefed attendees on the work related to women's development, the protection of womens rights and interests and family affairs.

At the training session, Jiang Fan, from the BWF Department of Grassroots Organizations Development BWF and Wei Qiankun, from the BWF Women's Development and Research Center, gave speeches on behalf of the trainees.

Wang Dan, head of the BWF Organization Department, expressed expectations and requirements for trainees in her speech at the closing ceremony.

For their part, trainees said that they will nurture new momentum for their future actions from the training session, strive to innovate and fulfill personal obligations, contribute their efforts to the high-quality development of women and children's affairs, and set the stage for the convocation of the 20th National Congress of the CPC with concrete actions.
