Women’s Federations of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Join Hands to Promote the Development of Child-Friendly Cities
Date:2025-9-15 16:41:02 Views:On September 12, the “Splendid Beijing, Shared Future” Press Conference on Financial Support for the Integration of Culture, Business, Tourism, and Sports Consumption was successfully held as part of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). The event was hosted by the Bank of Beijing and attended by Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation; Lu Jian, Level I Bureau Rank Official of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Local Financial Regulation; Dai Wei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of the Bank of Beijing; Wang Dongmei, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Tianjin Women’s Federation; Shi Huimin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Hebei Women’s Federation; Zhuang Jianrong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director-General of the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau; and Zhang Lijun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shijingshan District Committee.
In her speech, President Zhang Yajun highlighted that this year, Beijing was included in the fourth batch of cities designated as national child-friendly cities. The Beijing Women’s Federation has continued to expand its co-construction alliance. It encourages diverse social actors to participate in the development of child-friendly cities. Upholding the philosophy of “finance for the people,” Bank of Beijing has created financial literacy spaces for children and introduced dedicated service facilities. It has also organized activities such as the “Financial Literacy Carnival.” Each initiative closely aligns with the child-friendly concept, adding a note of warmth to financial services. Meanwhile, the Women’s Federations of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei have further strengthened their collaborative mechanisms and enhanced exchanges and cooperation across multiple fields. They have also worked to ensure that development outcomes better benefit women, children, and families.
In his remarks, President Dai Wei stated that, as a bank rooted in the capital, Bank of Beijing is committed to providing financial services covering the entire life cycle of citizens. The bank offers a full-spectrum solution ranging from children’s and youth growth finance to entrepreneurship, family, wealth management, and elderly care finance. It was the first to launch the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Family Card Package, creating a three-dimensional service network connecting “children, families, and society.” Through high-quality financial services, Bank of Beijing connects every family’s aspirations for a better life and contributes to the development of child-friendly cities.
At the press conference, the Beijing Women’s Federation, in collaboration with the Tianjin and Hebei Women’s Federation, Bank of Beijing, and other departments, jointly launched the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Family Financial Service System.” Focusing on children’s growth and family needs, the system expands the concept of “children’s finance” into “family finance.” It does so by issuing a set of exclusive family cards, building a rights-and-benefits platform, and creating a supportive ecosystem. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Family Card Package is available to families across the region. The package offers tailored services such as “Joyful Travel” for convenient transportation, “Joyful Shopping” for affordable consumption, and “Joyful Health” for comprehensive protection. It also provides discounts at cultural, commercial, tourism, and sports merchants, such as the “Starlight Train” and the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Cultural Tourism Card.” In addition, it offers distinctive services, including 24/7 video consultations with doctors across the region and green channels for medical treatment. These measures provide families more comprehensive and caring financial protection and service support. At the same time, the Family Financial Service System places strong emphasis on financial literacy and children’s participation. Initiatives such as the “Financial Literacy Carnival” and the “Children’s Observer Group” are designed to help children develop a healthy outlook on money and responsible consumption habits.
The “Jingying Children’s Observer Group” was officially launched at the event. Child representatives from Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei received invitation letters to the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Financial Literacy Carnival” along with badges of the “Jingying Children’s Observer Group.” Moving forward, these children will engage from a “one-meter perspective,” participating in service experiences and providing feedback to financial institutions. This will allow them to contribute their unique insights and voices to the development of child-friendly financial services. The Children’s Observer Group is a participatory initiative designed to involve children in grassroots social governance. It also safeguards their rights to information, expression, and participation. It aims to cultivate a sense of responsibility among children as “little masters” of the city, enhancing their capacity to engage in practical activities and contribute to society. By the end of 2025, Beijing plans to establish 100 such Children’s Observer Groups.
The launch of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Family Financial Service System marks a significant step forward in regional collaboration on child-friendly financial services. It is not only an innovative initiative that integrates financial services with people’s livelihoods, but also a concrete action by the Women’s Federations of the three regions to jointly promote the development of child-friendly cities and foster the all-round, healthy growth of children. Standing at the new starting point of the next decade of coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the three Women’s Federations will further leverage their strengths and enhance resource sharing and cooperation. They will also look to optimize the environment for children’s growth. These efforts will inject fresh momentum into the region’s overall coordinated development, enabling more children to enjoy a better life.
