On December 20, the “The Most Beautiful Family Traditions Nurture Every Household” Action Showcase Event and the 2025 “Most Beautiful Families of the Capital” Release Ceremony were held at the Lucheng Town Comprehensive Cultural Center in Tongzhou District.

The event was jointly organized by the Beijing Women’s Federation, the Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the Organization Department and the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the Office of the Capital Committee for the Construction of Spiritual Civilization, the Committee for Work Related to Offices Directly Under the Municipal Party Committee, and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

The event was attended by He Min, Deputy Director of the Department of Family and Children’s Work of the All-China Women’s Federation; Liao Jingjing, Editor-in-Chief of China Women’s Publishing House; Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairperson of the Beijing Women’s Federation; He Qun, Deputy Secretary and First-Level Inspector of the Committee for Work Related to Offices Directly Under the Municipal Party Committee; and Ma Yan, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed at the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions. Also present were officials from relevant organizing departments, representatives of women’s federations from various districts and sectors, and more than 200 family representatives from across the capital.

In 2025, in accordance with the All-China Women’s Federation’s requirements for strengthening family education and family traditions, Beijing organized a wide range of online and offline family civilization initiatives centered on six key themes: “Showcasing Family Traditions through Family Rules and Maxims,” “Passing on Family Values through Letters,” “Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Educators in Family Traditions,” “Fostering New Customs and Upholding Positive Family Values,” “Strengthening Family Integrity to Support Clean Governance,” and “Sharing Family Traditions through Thousands of Venues and Tens of Thousands of Speakers.” With the enthusiastic participation of all sectors of society, these activities have helped cultivate fine family traditions and collectively advance the shared vision of family harmony and national prosperity.

The situational drama Happy Life in a Happy Community vividly portrays grassroots communities actively taking part in the citywide creative works collection campaign, “Most Beautiful Family Traditions Nurture Every Household.” Four participating families shared their real-life stories. Through these stories, family values such as “dedication to the country” and “encouraging exploration” took root in people’s hearts.

During the event, the achievements of the 2025 “Most Beautiful Family Traditions Nurture Every Household” campaign were officially released.

The collection of Outstanding Family Tradition Works featured family letters and maxims, calligraphy and paintings, children’s handwritten newspapers, and other forms. It showcased the cultural creativity and positive spirit of families in the new era.

Innovative grassroots practices in building family traditions—such as the series “The Most Beautiful Family Traditions Nurture Every Household: Municipal Government Offices in Action” launched by the Women’s Working Committee of the Committee for Work Related to Offices Directly Under the Municipal Party Committee, the “Chaoyang Beautiful Families” initiative by the Chaoyang District Women’s Federation, and the “Small Families, Micro Governance” program by the Tongzhou District Women’s Federation—highlighted the tangible progress made by women’s federations at all levels in promoting the deep integration of family tradition development with community governance.

Creative cultural works with diverse themes and heartfelt emotions, such as the original children’s stage play Let Life Shine Like Sunshine, the family tradition story Building the Third Front in Southern Xinjiang—Grandfather’s Formative Years, and the legal-themed micro-film Return, brought the spirit of fine family traditions to life through artistic expression.

At the event, red-story narrators from the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, along with cultural and arts volunteers, presented the creative work Echoes Along the River of Family Traditions. Through revolutionary family letters that transcended time and space, the unyielding spirit and profound patriotism of martyrs’ family traditions were vividly conveyed. The audience was thus able to deeply experience both the power of faith and the warmth of its enduring legacy.

Since 2014, the “Most Beautiful Families of the Capital” publicity and selection campaign has steadily grown and achieved remarkable results. An increasing number of exemplary families have emerged as role models, upholding fine family traditions while embodying the spirit of the times. At the ceremony, the 2025 list of “Most Beautiful Families of the Capital” (100 families) and the nominated families (200 families) were officially announced. Attending leaders then presented honorary certificates to the representatives.

Among them, Meng Shixiang, a representative of the new workforce, shared his family story. As a food delivery courier, he has consistently stepped forward to help others in times of need, practicing the family creed of “kindness as the foundation of character and resilience in sustaining the family.” When his child faced a serious illness, his family supported one another and moved forward with optimism. They exemplified the remarkable responsibility of an ordinary household.

The event also unveiled the 2026 “Most Beautiful Families of the Capital” Courtesy Program. The National Alpine Skiing Center launched the “Most Beautiful Ice and Snow Courtesy Package,” and China Women’s Publishing House donated family tradition–themed books. Together, these initiatives created a social atmosphere that honors family role models.

As the event drew to a close, the warm melody of Let Love Live in My Home filled the venue. Ding Wenyun and Shi Bo’s families, representatives of the “Most Beautiful Families of the Capital,” performed the song together. Their harmonious voices radiated the warmth and affection of family life.

The successful hosting of this event reinforced citywide recognition of the importance of family education and traditions and provided a platform for exchanging and showcasing family culture. It also promoted the integration of exemplary family traditions into urban development and everyday life, injecting solid family-based strength into the capital’s cultural progress and high-quality development.
