Celia Shahnaz is president of Women In Engineering (WIE) under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Shahnaz, also an academician at the Bangladesh Institution of Engineers and a professor with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), has published over 150 research papers in leading journals and at international conference. She has won the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and the gold medal award of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences for her extraordinary achievements in science and technology.
In her speech at the Forum on Women in Sci-tech Innovation, she relates her personal experience on the employment of women engineers worldwide to share her understanding of historical opportunities and challenges confronting women in sci-tech innovation.
