Beijing Women's Federation Holds Expo to Promote Public Spirit

An expo presenting the various public welfare services available for women and children in Beijing, took place from July 14-16 at the China National Convention Center.
 
Taking "Charity + Me, My Family's Charity" as its theme, the 2017 Beijing Women and Children Public Service Expo was sponsored by Beijing Women's Federation.
 
The event aims at promoting a positive public spirit and calling on more people from all circles of society to jointly advance the development of women and children in the city.
 
According to organizers, the expo first took place in 2013, and has since attracted more than 400 social organizations and enterprises to contribute their efforts, benefiting nearly 400,000 women and children across the capital.
 
During the three-day event, 67 service activities were carried out, centering on six themes — quality of life; family education; health and safety; family culture; exploring experiences; and, environmental protection.
 
Meanwhile, over 100 service items provided by 50 social organizations were recommended to promote women and children's growth.
 
The expo further included an exhibition on the inheritance and innovation of women's handicrafts, in which specially-invited local craftswomen showed off their talents and skills and promoted items of cultural heritage.
 
Nearly 200 people attended the expo, including those from women's federations at different levels across the city, Women Home's centers and representatives from relevant offices and bureaus.
