BWF Holds “Advancing with the Party on the New Journey, Women Achieving Success in the New Era” Women’s Achievements Celebration and Recognition Event in Beijing
Date:2026-3-6 16:40:44 Views:At a time when Beijing is earnestly implementing the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks during his inspection of the city and striving to advance high-quality development in the capital, the Beijing Women’s Federation recently held an event themed “Advancing with the Party on the New Journey, Women Achieving Success in the New Era,” featuring a showcase women’s achievements in the capital and honoring Beijing recipients of the titles National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetter, National March 8 Red-Banner Collective, and National Women’s Civilized Post. The event aimed to unite and inspire women across the city to keep the Party’s instruction in mind, shoulder their responsibilities, and make new contributions to the development of the capital.
Among those attending the event were Tai Liehong, Director-General of the Publicity Department of the All-China Women’s Federation; Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation; and Sun Qianbin, Party Secretary, President, and Editor-in-Chief of China Women’s News. Also present were leaders from the systems and districts where the award recipients work, leaders and executive committee members of women’s federations at the municipal and district levels, and representatives of the honored individuals and collectives.

The event consisted of three thematic segments: “Shouldering the Nation’s Mission: Women Taking Responsibility,” “Breaking Boundaries for Growth: Leading at the Frontiers,” and “Serving the People with Dedication: Caring for Every Family.” Combining award presentations with performances and storytelling, the program vividly showcased the outstanding contributions and contemporary spirit of women in the capital in serving national strategies, advancing scientific and technological innovation, and improving public well-being.

In the segment “Shouldering the Nation’s Mission: Women Taking Responsibility,” performers from the China Conservatory of Music and the Chaoyang District Publicity and Cultural Center presented the erhu and percussion piece Galloping War Horses, whose stirring melody sounded the call for women to forge ahead with determination.
The situational recitation A Golden Calling Card of Diplomacy was jointly performed by Dong Qing, a recipient of the National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetter title, together with representatives from the Technical Center of Beijing Gongmei Group Co., Ltd., a National March 8 Red-Banner Collective, and the Floor Service Team of the National Convention Center Grand Hotel, a National Women’s Civilized Post. The performance highlighted the distinctive role of women in supporting major national events.
An immersive storytelling presentation titled Dialogue Across Time and Space was delivered by the Department of Social Education of the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, a National March 8 Red-Banner Collective, together with Han Lu, a recipient of the National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetter. Through vivid narratives, the presentation connected stories of heroic women from the revolutionary era, carrying forward the spirit of the red legacy in the new era.




In “Breaking Boundaries for Growth: Leading at the Frontiers,” the dialogue Drawing the Future with Intelligence was hosted by TongTong, the world's first embodied general-purpose artificial intelligence system prototype. National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters Dong Le, Li Pingxue, Xu Yuan, and Yang Li discussed the integrated development of AI and outlined a vision for a technology-empowered future.
A poetry recitation titled Forging a Shield Among the Stars, Women Holding the Light was presented by three National March 8 Red-Banner Collective: the Algorithm Department of Beijing Racobit Electric Information Technology Co. Ltd.; the Advanced Liquid Propulsion Combustion Development Team of the 11th Research Institute (Beijing) under the Sixth Academy of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation; and the Joint Research Team for Large Models in the National Defense Sector of the China Electronics Technology Group Intelligent Technology Research Institute. Through powerful verses, the performance conveyed the dedication of women researchers striving to overcome technical challenges in service to the nation.
The interview segment The Bond of Life featured National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters Ruan Xiangyan, He Yihua, and Zhao Yangyu in conversation with patients they had supported. Their heartfelt exchanges told moving stories of female medical professionals safeguarding lives through scientific research and warming hearts with compassion, demonstrating the strength of women in building a family-friendly society.




In “Serving the People with Dedication: Caring for Every Family,” the program I Have a Dream focused on the development of a child-friendly city. Li Qiuxue and Luo Lan, both National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters, shared vivid examples such as creating artistic spaces that nurture children’s dreams and launching legal literacy initiatives for minors, showcasing Beijing’s progress in building a child-friendly city.
The sketch Beijing Is My Home vividly recreated the working lives of women in emerging professions. National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters Lu Ping and Ren Hongyan, together with the Domestic Worker Training Group of Beijing JD Century Trading Co., Ltd.—a National Women’s Civilized Post—highlighted the warm and practical support provided by women’s federations as a trusted source of care and assistance for women.
In the interview segment Responsibility Rooted in Independence and Confidence, Jian Jun and Huang Tao, both National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters, shared their experiences in advancing domestic substitution of biomaterials and promoting acupuncture, a treasured element of traditional Chinese medicine, on the global stage. Their stories illustrated women’s perseverance and innovation in improving people’s well-being.

During the event, attending leaders presented awards to the National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters, National March 8 Red-Banner Collective, and National Women’s Civilized Posts, honoring these exemplary role models and paying tribute to their inspiring achievements.

Recently, the second volume President Xi Jinping’s Visits in People’s Homes, organized and compiled by the All-China Women’s Federation, was officially published. At the event, attending leaders presented copies of the book to representatives of the capital’s “Most Beautiful Families,” encouraging women and families to draw inspiration from the touching stories and positive changes in people’s lives described in the book, and to channel that inspiration into striving during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and making new contributions on the new journey ahead.

The event concluded with the theme song Blossoming China, a tribute to women in the new era. Members of the Capital Association of Women Professors, the Beijing Women Doctors’ Association, and representatives of National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetters performed the song together, conveying the beauty and strength of women while fostering unity and shared purpose.
Women across the capital will take the honored role models as examples, keep the nation’s major priorities in mind, and embrace the mission of the times. Through hard work and innovation, they will strive to write their chapter in the new era and pursue their dreams with determination, contributing to the powerful “half of the sky” to Beijing’s efforts to write a new chapter of Chinese modernization.
