Workshop for Women Technological Workers in Beijing Held
Date:2025-12-4 9:37:08 Views:The Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau and the Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park and Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) jointly held the fourth workshop on national conditions for women technological workers from November 27 to 29. It was intended to implement the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation: Beijing Action, empower local technological workers, and build the capital city into an international sci-tech innovation center. The three-day workshop drew the attendance of 57 technological workers from research institutions, universities, medical bodies and high-tech enterprises. Zhang Yajun, President of the BWF, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Zhao Hongwei, Vice-President of the BWF, presided over the opening ceremony and gave a speech at the closing ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang asked women technological workers to give full play to their special roles in sci-tech innovation, promote the integrated development of Zhongguancun Science City, Huairou Science City, Future Science City as well as the Yizhuang Economic Development Zone, and contribute their strength as well as wisdom to achieving high-level self-reliance and independence in science and technology. Zhang emphasized that women's federations shall deepen their implementation of Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation and provide women technological workers with more supportive policies, development platforms and precise services.

During the workshop, theoretical studies, on-site instruction, group discussions and parallel forums were organized to help women technological workers expand knowledge and horizon, and enhance their exchanges as well as cooperation.

During their visit to headquarters of Bayer (China) and Xiaomi Auto, attendees held intensive interactions with workers there, appreciated the tremendous development and charm behind science and technology, and grasped a deep understanding of dynamic innovation strengths from enterprises.

Participants shared the status quo and innovation results in their own industries and sectors, and came up with personal proposals about how to further leverage women's functions in sci-tech innovation during group discussions.

Zhang Yanjing, Chief R&D Director of Beijing-based biomedicine producer SinoCellTech, Feng Xue, a researcher with Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence, Zhao Yanying, from Compact Laser Plasma Accelerator Laboratory under Peking University, and Cai Rong, a researcher with National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, shared their learning experience and highlighted the development of frontier technologies as well as research results in their fields.

Attendees said that the workshop had helped them broaden horizon and enrich knowledge and they would strive for greater contributions to economic and social development, the cultivation of new quality productive forces and the building of an international sci-tech innovation center.
