Beijing Women’s Federation Hosts Delegation from Kazakhstan’s Women’s Sector

Suleymen, Deputy Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Parliamentarism, visited the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) for a friendly exchange. During the visit, the delegation toured Xiushui Street to learn about the Women’s Federation’s initiatives supporting women’s entrepreneurship. The delegates represented a broad variety of fields, including family and gender equality, reproductive health, and innovation and industrial development.
During the meeting, Lei Xiaoning, Vice President of the BWF, warmly welcomed the delegation. She also presented the BWF’s achievements in supporting women’s entrepreneurship and employment, protecting the rights of women and children, promoting women’s participation in politics, improving maternal and infant health, and fostering family education and values. Suleyman, head of the Kazakhstan women’s sector delegation, expressed his gratitude and outlined Kazakhstan’s initiatives to advance women’s development, protect women’s rights, and strengthen female leadership.
After the meeting, the two sides exchanged commemorative gifts and embarked on a joint tour. Dong Qing, President of Xiushui Street and Chair of the Women’s Federation, shared inspiring stories of women entrepreneurs supported by the Federation. These vivid and distinctive stories left a strong impression on the delegation. They engaged warmly with local business owners and expressed keen interest in Beijing’s initiatives to promote women’s entrepreneurship and employment through enterprise-based Women’s Federations. The delegates noted that the visit offered new ideas for advancing women’s development in Kazakhstan.
Suleyman stated that the delegation gained significant insights from the visit. The BWF’s experience in promoting women’s entrepreneurship and employment, as well as its use of artificial intelligence to empower women, provides a valuable reference for Kazakhstan. Both sides agreed that China and Kazakhstan share common goals in advancing women’s comprehensive development and promoting global gender equality. With next year marking the 20th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Beijing and Astana, both parties emphasized the significance of maintaining ongoing communication and further strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the fields of women and children.
The National Commission for Women Affairs, Family, and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established in 1998. It serves as an advisory body to the President, reporting directly to and accountable to the office of the President. Participants in this meeting included staff from the Embassy of China in Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China. Senior officials from the Beijing Women’s International Exchange Center and the Chaoyang District Women’s Federation were also in attendance.
