To further promote patriotism and inspire women to deepen their love for the nation, the event “Women’s Devotion to the Party, Building a Strong Military Dream Together” was held on September 18 at the Beijing Women Cadres’ School. The event was part of the inspiring stories of exemplary women and the Beijing Women’s Federation’s third-quarter Party Members’ Forum. It was attended by Du Chunxiao, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the BWF, and Vice President Zhang Ningyu, under the guidance of officials from the Beijing Municipal Publicity Department and other relevant municipal authorities. More than 80 participants—including Party members and cadres from BWF departments and affiliated institutions, community Party members from Chaoyang District, and women volunteers—attended the lecture in person.

General Secretary Xi Jinping noted that the commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War were solemn, grand, and inspiring occasions that deeply moved the nation and encouraged progress. These events further carried forward the great spirit of the War of Resistance and strengthened confidence and resolve in advancing the building of a strong nation and achieving national rejuvenation. They also demonstrated China’s commitment to promoting a community with a shared future for mankind. At the ceremony, the BWF organized the March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetters, women volunteers, and other representatives to attend in person. During the lecture, five female representatives who had attended the ceremony were invited to share heartfelt stories of growing together with the motherland and advancing in step with the times.

Zhou Min, Executive Vice Dean of the Lao She Academy at the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles (BFLAC) and Vice Chair of the Beijing Writers’ Association (BWA), emotionally recalled her grandfather’s experiences as a soldier in the Eighth Route Army. She vividly recounted his battlefield stories from the anti-Japanese base areas of eastern Hebei more than eighty years ago.

Zou Hongyun, Director of the Digital Engineering Services Department at the Technical Research Institute of Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group, shared how she fulfills her mission through technology. She also contributes to national development through practical efforts. Together with her team, she has spearheaded the digital transformation of the construction industry. Their efforts have fostered the growth of new, high-quality productive forces.

Ding Wenyun is the Associate Chief Physician of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. She was born in Taiwan and moved to Beijing in 2002 to pursue her studies. Over more than twenty years of living and working in Beijing, she and her family have built a bridge for cross-strait medical exchanges. They were also recognized as one of the nation’s “Most Beautiful Families.”

Shi Yan, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chair of the Trade Union, and Director of the Women’s Work Committee at Xiaomi Group, shared her insights on innovative approaches to Party building in non-public enterprises. By integrating Party work with business operations, she has invigorated corporate development. She has also highlighted the responsibility and dedication of women in the “Three New” sectors.

Tai Lihua, Head of the China Special Art Direction Center for the Disabled (China Disabled Persons’ Performing Art Troupe), led her team to captivate the world with Thousand-Hand Guanyin. They have repeatedly represented China on major international stages. From quiet beginnings to brilliant accomplishments, from personal aspirations to patriotic dedication, her story and her team’s work reflect the nation’s care for and support of every community.

The lecturers’ inspiring presentations and heartfelt stories received enthusiastic applause from the audience. Participants expressed their commitment to remembering history, cherishing peace, and drawing inspiration from these exemplary women to move forward with courage and perseverance. They pledged to excel in their respective roles, shoulder responsibilities, and contribute further to the development of the capital, as well as to the nation’s military strength and revitalization efforts.

Moving forward, the BWF will continue to present the inspiring stories of exemplary women, celebrating the spirit of women in the capital and showcasing the achievements of Beijing’s women and children initiatives. The series also aims to foster a deeper understanding of the Party’s innovative theories and mobilize women’s strength to advance in the new era.
