The event “Shang Xinjie · Aesthetic Lifestyle Gathering” kicked off on October 30 at the “Tiantan Yuanqi” Cultural Space in Hongqiao Market. Hosted by the Beijing Women’s Federation, this event was co-organized by the Beijing Women’s Association for Foreign Exchange and the Beijing Tonghe Industry Development Consulting Service Center. Lei Xiaoning, Member of the Leading Party Group and Vice President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, was in attendance. The gathering brought together influential women from new social strata—including lawyers, patient advocates, intangible cultural heritage inheritors, independent designers, new media professionals, writers, and art curators—for a shared exploration of living beautifully.

Centered on the theme of “Aesthetic Lifestyle,” the event blended traditional culture with contemporary aesthetic living through a series of sessions, including hands-on intangible cultural heritage workshops, thematic dialogues, and storytelling.

The “Traditional Charm: Hands-on Experience” session allowed participants to immerse themselves in the unique allure of traditional crafts like dian cui (kingfisher feather art), plant dyeing, and Song brocade button making.
The “Blind Box: Encounters” session used interactive blind boxes to foster spontaneous connections and showcase the magic of cross-industry exchange.
During the “Tea and Poetry Salon,” guests connected over tea, using poetry as a springboard for dynamic discussions on aesthetic living, professional growth, and self-care, sparking a vibrant and inspiring exchange of ideas.
The “Gallery of Beauty: Story Sharing” session featured four women from film, intangible cultural heritage, education, and guqin music. They shared diverse, personal narratives that highlighted the multifaceted nature of women’s strength, explored potential collaborations, and drew inspiration from one another.
A key outcome of the event was the “Elegance & Connection: Linking for Good” session, which established an offline “Lian Space” for women of new social strata, creating a lasting platform for networking and building consensus for future development. As the event concluded, participants distilled their insights into memorable quotes to exchange with one another—symbolizing the spirit of “appreciated beauty in diversity.”
Background: “Shang Xinjie” is a signature initiative of the Beijing Women’s Federation for engaging and supporting women of new social strata. Focusing on “ideological guidance, empowerment for growth, and emotional connection,” the program aims to inspire these women to cultivate an optimistic, self-affirming, and accomplished spirit. It serves as a platform for shared ideas and mutual understanding, uniting and guiding women to contribute to society and realize their dreams in the new era.
