Date:2026-3-6 10:41:27 Views:On March 5, a symposium was held in China’s capital to commemorate International Women’s Day. Representatives in Beijing who received national honors—including National March 8 Red-Banner Pacesetter, National March 8 Red-Banner Collectives, and Women’s Civilized Posts—gathered to share their experiences and reflections on contributing to the capital’s high-quality development. You Jun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress, attended the symposium and delivered remarks.
At the meeting, Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF), introduced the March 8 Red-Banner awards. Yang Li from Peking University First Hospital, Lu Ping from Beijing SF Express, Li Pingxue from Beijing University of Technology, Pan Tingting from the Beijing General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, and Jin Ye from the Beijing Women’s Volleyball Team shared inspiring stories about demonstrating women’s excellence in the modernization of the capital.
On behalf of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government, You Jun congratulated the individuals and collectives receiving the honors and extended festive greetings and high respect to women and women workers across the city.
You Jun noted that women across the city are encouraged to strengthen their convictions and remain steadfast in listening to and following the Party; to shoulder the responsibilities of the times and contribute actively to the capital’s high-quality development; and to promote civility and virtue by taking the lead in fostering positive social norms.
He also emphasized that women’s federations at all levels in the city should firmly uphold the political nature of women’s work and the political positioning of women’s federations, and better serve as a bridge linking the Party and the government with women. Party committees at all levels, he said, should continue to value and support the development of women’s and children’s initiatives, strengthen organizational leadership over related work to women and children as well as women’s federations, and ensure that the achievements of modernization benefit more women across the city.
