Also present were Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Beijing Women’s Federation, Lei Xiaoning, Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice Chairwoman, and Liu Lin, President of Beijing City University. Leaders and experts from the Beijing Silver Industry Association, JD.com, and Beijing City University also participated. At the meeting, Beijing City University, the Beijing Silver Industry Association, and JD.com introduced their work in academic program development, industry development, and domestic service operations, respectively. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on industry-education integration, technological empowerment, brand building, and quality improvement and expansion. They focused particularly on the proposal, led by the Beijing Women’s Federation, to jointly establish the “Good Life College.” All parties agreed that establishing the college would serve as an important initiative and valuable exploration in advancing the professionalization, standardization, and branding of the domestic service industry. It would also help expand employment opportunities for women, improve the quality of household services, support public welfare in the capital, and contribute to a better quality of life.

Sui Zhenjiang noted that efforts should be made to upgrade the industry from traditional services to more professional, high-end, and standardized development. He expressed hope that all stakeholders would deepen collaboration and strengthen skills empowerment by bridging together universities and enterprises to optimize curricula and hands-on training programs. He called for targeted training programs in maternal and infant care, elderly care, domestic service management, and family education to enhance women’s professional capabilities. He also emphasized the need to build employment platforms to improve supply-demand matching mechanisms and provide women with stable employment opportunities and entrepreneurial support, enabling them to achieve greater professional development in the domestic service sector. In addition, he stressed the importance of fostering women-oriented service brands and promoting domestic services in communities and households to provide more professional and caring services that support children’s healthy growth and ensure better quality of life for older adults.

Zhou Zhijun stated that the Beijing Women’s Federation has long been committed to improving the quality and efficiency of domestic services. She said that the discussions on establishing the “Good Life College” represented a proactive effort to implement national and municipal policies promoting the high-quality and healthy development of the domestic service industry. She added that the Beijing Women’s Federation would fully leverage its strengths in political guidance, organizational mobilization, service coordination, public outreach, and model promotion, integrate resources to fully support the development of the “Good Life College,” and accelerate the establishment of a coordinated development framework featuring government guidance, industry collaboration, enterprise participation, university support, and Women’s Federation empowerment.

The symposium further strengthened consensus among government agencies, industry associations, universities, and enterprises, clarified the development direction and implementation pathway for the “Good Life College,” and injected new momentum into the high-quality development of the capital’s domestic service industry.

Following the symposium, representatives of the BWF also visited the Haidian District Women and Children’s Activity Center.
