Beijing Women's Federation

On the afternoon of May 22, the Beijing Women’s Federation convened a meeting on grassroots organization development at the Hongfan Party and Mass Service Center in Haidian Subdistrict. Zhao Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Vice Chairwoman of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. Nearly 40 participants attended, including vice chairpersons responsible for relevant work, heads of organization and publicity departments from district women’s federations, and representatives of grassroots women’s federations.

During the meeting, representatives from the Haidian District Women’s Federation, Haidian Subdistrict Women’s Federation, the Jingbei Libo Women’s Federation of Changping District, and the Women Anchors Women’s Group of Tongzhou District shared their experiences and practices. The meeting outlined key tasks for grassroots organization development this year. Participants were urged to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements and instructions on Party building in emerging sectors, and to carry out the decisions and arrangements of the central authorities as well as the work requirements of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and the All-China Women’s Federation. Efforts should be made to deepen and expand the “two coverage” of women’s federation organizations in emerging sectors and strengthen unity and cohesion among women engaged in new forms of employment.

The meeting emphasized the need to further deepen reform of women’s federation organizations, improve organizational systems, stimulate organizational vitality, and ensure that reform measures take effect at the grassroots level, so that women’s federations can better serve as a bridge and link between the Party and government and women. It also stressed the importance of firmly establishing and practicing a sound approach to performance evaluation, strengthening the development of women’s federation organizations, uniting and serving women, and contributing to grassroots governance in the capital and the high-quality development of women’s causes.

Following the meeting, participants conducted a field visit to learn about the development and operation of women’s federation organizations in emerging sectors, including the Hongfan Party and Mass Service Center at e-World Fortune Center in Haidian Subdistrict, the “Warm Corner” service station for new workers, and the Women Livestream Hosts Women’s Group in Haidian District.
