Nurturing Family Traditions with Books, Passing Down the Family Lineage with Warmth
Patriotic sentiments warm the heart, and the fragrance of books illuminates a new journey. The event featured a warm and solemn book donation ceremony. Copies of Xi Jinping: Walking into the Worlds of Ordinary People were presented to representatives of the capital’s “Most Beautiful Families” and community families. Written in plain language, the book records the heartwarming moments of the leader visiting ordinary people’s homes. It uses touching stories to interpret the profound sentiment of putting the people first. The book serves as a vivid textbook for cultivating fine family traditions and a spiritual guide for gathering family strength. A single book carries a profound original aspiration, and a trust inspires people to forge ahead. This book donation not only delivers the leader’s care and continues the warmth of family and nation, but also guides families to deeply root their patriotic feelings, cultivate civilized family traditions, and consolidate the foundation of a great nation through the prosperity of small families.

Blending Ancient and Modern Melodies, Nourishing Young Hearts with Fine Arts
Amid the resounding beats of gongs and drums, the intangible cultural heritage of Sichuan Opera face-changing made a stunning appearance. The performer’s rapid face-changing fully displayed the unique charm of this century-old heritage and the profound nature of Chinese traditional art. A cool robot runway show followed closely. The robots displayed the unlimited charm of cutting-edge technology through agile mechanical dance steps and precise, smooth movements, achieving a wonderful dialogue between ancient heritage and modern technology. A joyful clown then made a surprise appearance. Magic shows, balloon twisting, and fun interactions took place one after another. The humorous performance ignited the atmosphere of the entire venue, bringing holiday joy and surprises to the children. Combining drama and robotics, blending the ancient and the modern, the traditional and the contemporary complemented each other, opening up a marvelous journey for the families.

Tracing Ancient Ruins to Gain New Knowledge through Study Tours
As an important cultural landmark of the Beijing Urban Sub-Center, the Luxian Ancient City Archaeological Site Museum served as the main cultural venue for this event. The event organized parent-child families to conduct deep study tours inside the museum. Professional guides provided detailed explanations, leading adults and children to trace the history of the ancient city. They viewed 289 pieces (sets) of precious unearthed artifacts at close range, including Han Dynasty “Qian Qiu Wan Sui” (meaning “Eternal Life”) roof tiles and Han Dynasty bronze irons. These activities brought the cultural relics “to life” and led the children to dialogue with history across time and space. The venue also carefully set up a fun stamp-collecting activity. Children explored along the tour route, broadening their horizons and accumulating knowledge during the walking tour. The profound history and culture successfully nourished the children’s hearts and characters.
Inheriting Cultural Heritage through Markets, Passing Down Intangible Cultural Heritage with Skillful Hands
The lively and warm cultural market area was packed with visitors. Various experience projects were highly interesting and combined education with entertainment. A special section called “The Han Dynasty Herbal Culture Journey” was set up, leading families to trace the development of herbal formulas and explore the origins of traditional Chinese medicine culture. The market also offered environmental handicraft classes. Creative handmade items were built using waste materials, such as badminton ornaments, pine coasters, plant bookmarks, transformed egg trays, and succulent planting using coffee grounds. These activities guided children to establish green concepts and develop the habit of thrift and diligence. Traditional intangible cultural heritage experiences were showcased one after another, including ancient rubbing techniques, Tu’er Ye painting, mother-of-pearl inlay, lacquer fans, loong-and-feng calligraphy, and sugar figure blowing. Parents and children worked together to enjoy an immersive experience of folk skills, making unique items with their own hands. They felt the unique charm of traditional craftsmanship at close range, understanding cultural power and inheriting the Chinese cultural lineage through practical practice.

Exercising Together to Welcome the “Grain in Ear” Season
Traditional folk sports games such as hoop rolling, shuttlecock kicking, and sandbag throwing made appearances, recreating classic childhood fun and awakening warm memories of the past. The modern sports area brought trendy projects such as land curling, ice cuqiu (a traditional ice game), flying disc tic-tac-toe, and safe archery. Parents and children worked together to pass challenges, experiencing the new sensations of technology-empowered sports and strengthening their emotional bonds through teamwork. In addition, the activities closely followed seasonal characteristics, integrating fun sports themed around the “Grain in Ear” solar term. The event cleverly combined agricultural folklore, solar term knowledge, and sports entertainment. Parent-child teams participated in challenges, cooperating tacitly and sweating freely. They strengthened their bodies, tempered their willpower, and deepened their family affection amid laughter.

Teaching Fire Safety to Consolidate the Family Defense Line
The event also featured a special zone for fire safety science popularization and experience. Firefighters from the Tongzhou District Fire Rescue Detachment provided on-site demonstrations, explanations, training, and interactive experiences. They taught children and parents how to respond to accidents and natural disasters such as fires, drowning, urban waterlogging, and mountain torrents. They publicized laws, including the Fire Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Minors, and the Fire Prevention Regulations of Beijing Municipality. In response to the children’s questions about rescue and firefighting, the firefighters guided parents and children to conduct on-site experiments together. They answered the questions of every clever child one by one, helping them increase safety knowledge and building a strong family safety defense line.

The “Celebrate June 1st Children’s Day with Mom and Dad” Parent-Child Carnival is a vivid practice of the Beijing Women's Federation's continuous efforts to deepen child care services and cultivate family civilization. It is also an important measure to promote school-home-society collaborative education and foster family traditions for the new era. Moving forward, the Beijing Women’s Federation will fully play its role as a bridge and link. It will conduct distinctive parent-child activities on a regular basis, continuously enrich family cultural life, deepen the construction of family traditions in the new era, and promote the high-quality development of work related to women, children, and families in the capital.
