“Youth Blooms, Military and Civilian Hearts Unite”—The “Happiness Connection, Love in Beijing” Military-Civilian Youth Matchmaking Event Successfully Held
Date:2026-6-1 20:10:33 Views:To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its successive plenary sessions, and to act upon General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourses on women, children, and the work of Women’s federations, as well as on emphasizing family values, family education, and family traditions, the “Youth Blooms, Military and Civilian Hearts Unite”—“Happiness Connection, Love in Beijing” military-civilian youth matchmaking event was launched to solidly advance heartwarming and preferential treatment for military personnel and effectively alleviate the challenges young people face in dating and marriage. This event, jointly hosted by the Beijing Women’s Federation, the PLA Veteran Cadre Service Management Bureau in Beijing, and other units, and organized by the Xicheng District Women’s Federation, Haidian District Women’s Federation, and Beijing Women and Children Service Center, was successfully held at the National People’s Congress Conference Center on May 30. This event also served as the “Spring Encounter with a Kindred Spirit” special session of the Beijing Women’s Federation’s 2026 “Happiness Connection, Love in Beijing” Four Seasons of Love series. Over 600 single young people from military units, local government agencies, enterprises, public institutions, and university students gathered together for a wonderful encounter of youth and romance. Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the event and delivered a speech.

This military-civilian matchmaking event featured a rich agenda, compact segments, and innovative formats. The organizers meticulously designed multi-layered, immersive interactive sessions to comprehensively help young men and women break the ice and deepen mutual understanding. During the opening ceremony, warm-up music and band performances created a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. In their opening remarks, the leaders of the hosting units extended sincere greetings and best wishes to all attending military and civilian youth, stating that the event aimed to build a bridge for communication and exchange between military and civilian youth, allowing those dedicated to their posts to feel the care of the organization, and also infusing warmth and vitality into military-civilian friendship.
In the “First Encounter, Fun Ice-breaking” segment, the host guided the youth to partner up, interact, and introduce themselves through interactive games, quickly closing the distance amidst laughter. During the “Mission Accomplished, Bouquet Conveys Affection” segment, young people holding flowers generously shared their thoughts, and free exchanges allowed for initial understanding. The subsequent activities, such as “Red Partners, Happiness Continues” group-switching interaction, “Emergency Assembly, Concentric Circles” team challenge, and “Iron Will, Tender Hearts Talent Show”, repeatedly brought the atmosphere to a climax. In the “Mission Assembly, Material Transport” segment, young people formed teams in male-female pairs, working hand-in-hand to complete a relay transport of supplies within a time limit, navigating fun obstacles. This “fighting side by side” demonstrated strong tacit understanding within teams and brought everyone closer together amidst shared laughter.

During the tea break, accompanied by soft music, young people gathered in small groups to chat. Matchmakers were on-site to facilitate connections, with many youths proactively exchanging contact information to learn more about each other's interests, hobbies, and daily lives. In the finale segment, “Glory Confession, Hand-in-Hand Ceremony,” nearly 80 couples bravely confessed their feelings. The organizers extended their best wishes to the successfully matched guests. The event concluded successfully in a warm atmosphere, filled with the joy of youth and anticipation for the future.

This military-civilian matchmaking event is not only a vivid practice of the Beijing Women’s Federation’s “Happiness Connection, Love in Beijing” brand service but also an important measure by the PLA Veteran Cadre Service Management Bureau in Beijing to provide heartwarming care and benefits to military personnel. The Beijing Women’s Federation will continue to advance the development of the "Happiness Connection" marriage and dating service brand. With the seasonal themed activities—“Spring Encounter with a Kindred Spirit,” “Summer Gathering for Good Fate,” “Autumn Bonding of Hearts,” and “Winter Warmth Traveling Together”—it integrates diverse concepts such as “culture and tourism +,” “sports +,” and “culture +” into regular year-round social activities. It will continuously improve service mechanisms, broaden service channels, and build a warm-hearted platform for young people to communicate, understand, and commit to each other, leveraging the strength of the Women’s federation to escort young people towards a happy life.
