On July 3, the Beijing Women’s Federation convened an expanded meeting of its Leading Party Members’ Group to conduct a thematic study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech delivered at the ceremony marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Participants collectively watched news coverage of the commemorative event and studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech in depth. They also exchanged insights based on their respective work practices and drew strength for progress from the power of the Party’s guiding ideology. The meeting was presided over by Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation. Members of the Leading Party Members’ Group, bureau-level officials, heads of all departments and affiliated institutions, as well as representatives of young cadres attended the meeting.

The meeting emphasized the need to fully recognize the major significance of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech. Far-reaching and profound in thought, the speech serves as a brilliant Marxist document that further clarifies the direction and provides fundamental guidance for accomplishing the Party’s central tasks on the new journey in the new era. It profoundly reveals the “six how-tos” that have enabled the CPC to achieve continuous success, sets out the clear requirements of the “five musts” for all Party members on the new journey, and makes a powerful call to the entire Party to strive for new historic achievements.

The meeting stressed the importance of firmly remembering that “when evaluating Beijing, one must first and foremost do so from a political standpoint,” and of cultivating political loyalty and capability commensurate with Beijing’s status as the nation’s model area. It called for a deeper understanding of the speech’s rich connotations, further enhancing awareness of the decisive significance of the “Two Establishes” and resolutely achieving the “Two Upholds.” It is important to uphold the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, strengthen theoretical armament with the Party’s innovative theories, and, in light of new circumstances, carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party while inheriting and promoting its fine traditions. It is essential to adhere to the Party’s basic theory, basic line, and basic policy, and exercise full and rigorous Party self-governance with sustained effort.

The meeting required that women’s federations at all levels in the city regard the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on July 1 as a major political task for the present and future periods. This should be integrated with the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, as well as the ongoing educational initiative on establishing and practicing a correct understanding of governance performance. A rapid wave of study, publicity, and implementation should be launched to translate learning outcomes into strong momentum for the high-quality development of women’s federation work.

First, efforts should be made to strengthen ideological guidance for women and solidify the foundation of unity and struggle. Through leadership-led learning, and by cascading study from Party organs to the broader system and from Party members to women and the masses, efforts should be made to continuously deepen the study and implementation of the Party’s innovative theories Women and families should be united and guided to listen to the Party, be grateful to the Party, and follow the Party.

Second, the strength of women should be mobilized to serve the high-quality development in the capital. The study and implementation of the important speech should be incorporated into the publicity and educational campaign of “Advancing the 15th Five-Year Plan and Taking Practical Steps for a New Start.” Outstanding role models, such as recipients of the “July 1 Medal” and “Outstanding Party Members, Outstanding Party Affairs Workers, and Advanced Grassroots Party Organizations” should be widely promoted to guide women and families in the capital to learn from role models and strive for excellence.

Third, the bridge connecting the Party and the masses must be strengthened to deepen the commitment to serving the people. By fully leveraging its functions of guidance, service, and connection, the Federation should effectively implement the “Five Actions” and “Six Practical Measures.” Efforts should be intensified to advance the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for Women and Children, and to address the pressing difficulties and concerns of women.

Last but not least, unwavering efforts should be made to exercise full and rigorous Party self-governance and to strengthen the accountability for Party building. In conjunction with the implementation of inspection and rectification requirements, efforts should be made to strengthen the cadre team of the women’s federation and refine work style, ensuring that new achievements in Party building provide strong guarantees for the development of the women and children’s causes in the capital.
