On July 4, the Global Digital Economy Conference 2026 International Forum on “She Power” in the Digital Economy was successfully held. With the theme “Intelligence Without Borders, Women Creating the Future—Innovation Conference in the Global Digital Ecosystem,” the forum focused on global collaboration, diversity and inclusiveness empowered by digital intelligence for women’s development. Centered on two core tracks—digital industrialization and industrial digitalization—the forum aimed to inject “She Power” into fostering an open, inclusive, fair, just, and non-discriminatory environment for the digital economy.

Jointly organized by the Organizing Committee of the Global Digital Economy Conference and the Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance (DEC40), the forum was co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, the Beijing Women’s Federation, and the Zhongguancun Digital Economic Industry Alliance. Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, and Zhang Jinsong, Rotating Chair of the Zhongguancun Digital Economic Industry Alliance and Party Secretary and Chairman of Beijing Electronics Holding Co., Ltd., attended and addressed the event. Shu Bilei, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, along with officials from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and the Beijing Women’s Federation, was also in attendance. Yu Jing, Secretary-General of the Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance and Director of the External Cooperation Division of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, presided over the opening session. Over 600 female representatives from universities, research institutions, and enterprises at home and abroad participated in the event, which was also livestreamed online.

In her address, Zhou Zhijun stated that promoting gender equality in the digital sector is not only a key issue of social justice but also a vital topic for sustaining global innovation vitality. Empowering women through digital intelligence has become a global consensus in women’s development. In an era of surging digital intelligence, she encouraged women to build resilience through continuous learning, constantly expand their professional boundaries, and actively participate in the full process of technological advancement. She also called for jointly fostering a compassionate digital ecosystem that genuinely responds to people’s aspirations for a better life, and for advancing shared progress guided by consensus and tech for good. With an open, collaborative global mindset, she emphasized strengthening international cooperation, co-shaping a new order for digital governance, and working together to build a digital future that is open, inclusive, fair, just, and non-discriminatory.

Zhang Jinsong noted that as digital technologies are rapidly integrated into real-world applications, women are increasingly contributing to product iteration and ecosystem improvement, leveraging their meticulous product thinking, refined operational capabilities, and diverse innovative perspectives. Looking ahead to the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period and a new landscape of global digital cooperation, the Alliance will continue to build platforms for government–enterprise dialogue and international exchange. It will also launch public welfare digital skills training programs for women and regularly host monthly “AI + Key Industrial Chain” salons. By strengthening its bridging role and leveraging ecosystem advantages, the Alliance aims to assist more women in demonstrating their value and stand out in the global digital economy wave, contributing a continuous stream of “She Power” to Beijing’s development as a global benchmark city for the digital economy and to the building of a Digital China.

The keynote speech session explored women’s innovation and development in the digital era from four dimensions: digital governance rules, science and innovation talent cultivation, ecosystem building, and technology application.

Francis Gurry (Australia), Chairman of the Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance and former Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, shared governance insights on promoting a digitally friendly environment through open cooperation, and guiding technology toward the public good through consensus-based rules.

Professor Zhang Haixia from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at Peking University, and Founder and Chair of iCANX, delivered a speech titled “iCANX: Connecting the World, Empowering the Future.” She outlined practical pathways for cultivating sci-tech talent and fostering global collaborative innovation among scientists.

Ferliana Sitardravi (Indonesia), CEO of the Global Alliance for Artificial Intelligence, spoke on “Women, Power, and the Future of AI,” highlighting approaches to breaking geographical and cultural boundaries and building a diverse and inclusive digital ecosystem.

Miao Xiaohong, Member of JD Group’s Strategic Executive Committee and Vice President (concurrently) of the Beijing Women’s Federation, delivered a speech titled “The Value and Responsibility of Women in the Era of Digital-Physical Integration.” She shared innovative practices demonstrating how women are boldly driving the empowerment of the real economy through artificial intelligence.

During the Fireside Dialogue, participants had in-depth discussions under the theme “‘She’ Coordinates in the New Global Digital Ecosystem,” focusing on industrial digital transformation, digital infrastructure development, and international open cooperation in the digital economy. The four panelists included Chen Yali (Singapore), Vice Chair and Executive Director of the APAC Innovation and Collaboration Center under the DEPA International Center; Wu Jinmei, Party Committee Member and Executive Vice President of Beijing Tourism Group, Chairman of China Quanjude Group; Xu Jun, Vice Chairman of Zhongguancun Digital Economic Industry Alliance and Vice Chairman of Beiming Software Co., Ltd.; and Chen Zhifang, Founder and CEO of Beijing Youpin Sanyue Technology Development Co., Ltd. They shared practical experiences of women breaking boundaries across industries, regions, and cultures to drive cross-sector collaboration and value co-creation amid the integration of digital technologies and the industry.

At the “Release of Model Cases” session, Chang Yi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of Zhongguancun Digital Economic Industry Alliance, officially unveiled the “2026 Model Cases of Family-Friendly Empowerment through Digital Intelligence.” Selected from alliance member enterprises, these cases cover five major dimensions: all-age inclusiveness, early risk warning, smart elderly care, safety monitoring, and child-friendly services. Collectively, they highlight how enterprises, as key drivers of innovation, actively embrace the concept of family-friendly development and leverage digital intelligence technologies to improve the quality of life.
