To implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on “stepping up efforts to establish women’s federations in new economic and social organizations, as well as among workers in new forms of employment to achieve full coverage,” and to fulfill the requirements of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and the All-China Women’s Federation on expanding the “Two Coverages” initiative in Party building across emerging sectors, the Beijing Transportation Industry Women’s Working Committee was officially established on June 26. This milestone was achieved through months of meticulous preparation and joint efforts by the Beijing Women’s Federation and the Party Committee of the Beijing Transportation Industry.

Recently, the Beijing Women’s Federation, the Beijing Transportation Industry Women’s Working Committee, and the Trade Union of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport jointly launched the “Care for Women Taxi Drivers” campaign, featuring insurance coverage and summer relief initiatives..

Through active coordination by the Beijing Women’s Federation, Beijing Life donated “Ai Ta Bao” (Care for Her Insurance), a women-specific health insurance plan, to representatives of female drivers aged 46 and above from 109 taxi and ride-hailing companies and platforms, providing additional health protection for women working in the industry. The Trade Union of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport also distributed summer heat-relief supplies to the women drivers on-site.

During the event, participants engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges, and the organizer actively solicited comments and suggestions from women working in the transportation industry. The event also launched the “Beijing Warm Care Code.” Developed by the Beijing Women’s Federation for women working in emerging sectors, this platform offers four key services—Warm Care Map, Warm Care Platform, Warm Care Services, and Warm Care Information—providing practical support such as places to rest, drinking water, charging facilities, and consultation services for women in new forms of employment.

Representative drivers, including Capital Labor Medal recipient He Yanjing from Beijing Northern Taxi and Hu Weiping from Shouqi Ride-Hailing, expressed their appreciation. They noted that the new Women’s Working Committee has given them a true sense of belonging, allowing them to feel the care and support from the organization.

Going forward, the Beijing Women’s Federation will continue to pool resources from all sectors to support the Women’s Working Committee in fully playing its role. Guided by the principles of Party building-led development, industry collaboration, local implementation, and government-enterprise coordination, it aims to deliver more tangible and accessible services for women working in emerging sectors.
