To implement President Xi Jinping's important expositions on families, family education and family tradition and celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and according to the plan of the Beijing Women's Federation to do practical work for women, the Beijing Women and Children's Social Service Center recently launched a series of activities centered on serving women, children and families.
The family safety experience project covers three themes: traffic safety, fire safety and emergency rescue. Popularizing safety knowledge in a bid to enhance the awareness of families, it sought to spread the seeds of self-protection and first-aid.
On the site, virtual reality technology helped the participants experience a fire, while simulation teaching aids facilitated drills like using fire extinguishers, the anti-choking solution Heimlich Maneuver and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
In addition, online classes were also provided on an app sponsored by the center, in order to disseminate knowledge about preventing and coping with fires and other common dangers, and to effectively improve the rescue skills of local families.
Since its launch in April, the project has carried out a dozen weekly immersive experience training sessions at the center, schools and communities.
