Beijing Women and Children Development Foundation Aid Flood-Hit Henan
Date:2021-7-29 10:04:10 Views:The Beijing Women and Children Development Foundation (BWCDF) quickly contacted its counterpart in Central China's Henan Province to learn more about disaster relief needs after heavy downpours and flooding hit the province, said the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) on July 25. BWCDF called on members of its boards of directors and supervisors to extend a helping hand to disaster-hit areas.
Funds and materials including purified water, raincoats, rain boots, flashlights and quilts worth more than a million yuan (US $153,846) have been donated through BWCDF.
The donation list has been sent to Henan Women and Children Development Foundation and supplies will be given out to designated areas as soon as possible after the receiving counties are confirmed, with women, children and families in need as priority. BWCDF sought solidarity and cooperation with Henan people while going through this difficult time.
Notably, Eve Group, a member of the Beijing Qiaoniang Handicraft Development Association that is affiliated to the BWF, raised supplies worth 5.2 million yuan (US $800,000) and delivered them to disaster-stricken areas quickly.
