Beijing Women's Federation

Under the guidance of the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and Daxing District Women's Federation and with the strong support of the local Party committees, the Working Committee on Women of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) and the Working Committee on Women of Meituan (Beijing) were established on September 17. This was done in accordance with the spirit of the All-China Women's Federation's plan for deepening reform of the women's federation system during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period (2021-25) and a document on deepening reform for consolidating women's federation-related organizations.

The establishment of the new working committees on women accorded with the requirement of the BWF's plan to promote the effective coverage of women's federation-related organizations, strengthen the establishment of women's organizations where women are concentrated in new fields of employment such as the internet and the express industry, and continuously expand the coverage and influence of women's federations.

The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) held the inaugural meeting of its working committee on women in the presence of 120 female representatives on September 17. The leaders of the BWF and the BDA Party working committee attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

The establishment of the Working Committee on Women of the BDA is not only a major event in the historical process of Party building and reform and development of the BDA, and an important symbol to carry forward and strengthen women's work, but also a concrete action and major initiative to perform the main responsibility of exercising full and strict Party self-governance, and improve the protection of women and children's rights and interests. The committee became the first regional women's affairs management organization in Beijing and makes a breakthrough in the construction of women's federation-related organizations in regional key area. The Working Committee on Women of BDA will devote themselves to the overall development of the BDA and lead the women of the BDA to make their contributions to building a livable, harmonious and beautiful community in BDA, with political commitment, responsibility and qualified services.

The inaugural meeting and First Women's Congress of Meituan (Beijing) Working Committee on Women were successfully held on September 29. The working committee was established in the presence of female representatives from all departments of the company, the grassroots organization department of BWF, the Chaoyang District Women's Federation, Donghu Sub-district Office and the Party committee of Meituan (Beijing).

The meeting elected five members of the committee, including one director and two deputy directors. The establishment of the working committee is not only a big and exciting event in the political life of Meituan's female employees, marking a new page in Meituan's women's work, but also an important initiative to implement the spirit of mass organization reform and plays a pioneering role for establishing women's organizations in the tech enterprises.

The Working Committee on Women of Meituan (Beijing) will further strengthen leadership, advance its role as a bridge and take the responsibility to guide female employees to make contributions at their post, build up the grassroots women's organizations and provide accurate services, so as to gather the maximum power of the female employees of Meituan seeking common struggle and unite and lead them to follow the leadership of the Party.

Beijing Women's Federation will actively consolidate its organizations, focus on the work of field extension, and increase the women's organizations coverage. At the same time, BWF will adhere to “where there are the people, there are organizations”, and build organizations in a way that is conducive to work, and further promote its work plan, and constantly expand the tangible and effective coverage of its organizations.
