The Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a conference themed on "taking cases as a mirror to promoting rectification" on October 18 in order to deeply study and implement the spirit of a recent conference on discipline education held by the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, especially the spirit of Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee Cai Qi's speech at the meeting. More than 70 people, including officials from the municipal commission for discipline inspection and the municipal supervisory commission, heads and Party members and officials from various departments and affiliated units of the BWF, attended the conference.

 

During the meeting, Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the BWF, conveyed the spirit of the municipal Party committee's discipline education conference and the spirit of Cai's important speech. Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President of the BWF, Wei Jiang, presided over the meeting.

 

Targeted for the eight issues pointed out by Cai, Zhang reflected on the existing problems and analyzed their root causes, guiding Party members and officials to clarify laws and rules, and promote rectification, and enhancing their awareness to hold discipline in awe and respect.

 

According to the meeting, the sense of responsibility should be strengthened to further enforce rigorous self-discipline within the Party. Party members and officials, especially leading cadres, should further strengthen their faith, strictly abiding by discipline and fulfill their due responsibilities. It is imperative for them to give top priority to the political work of the Party. They must take the lead in enhancing the Four Consciousnesses, reinforce the Four-sphere Confidence, ensure the Two Upholds, focus on the country's top priorities, and continuously improve their political judgment, understanding and execution. Zhang called on cadres to shoulder their responsibilities of strengthening Party discipline, firmly uphold and practice the concept that achievement in Party building is significant, strictly observe the Party's discipline and rules, strengthen the awareness of discipline, and educate Party members and cadres to be far-sighted enough that do not cross the bottom line.

 

Efforts should be made to create a clean and upright political environment, where the Party building work is of high quality and efficiency with strong and standard execution, where the Party building work is deeply integrated with functional work, to promote the continuous and in-depth development of full and rigorous Party governance, she added. In addition, the attendees were encouraged draw strength from the Party's century-long path to lead the women's cause, use the great Party founding spirit to strengthen confidence, inspire fighting spirit, and make unremitting efforts to contribute to the capital's high-quality development.
