Beijing Women and Children Service Center organized on November 12 an online meeting for the final evaluation of the serialized social service project implemented Beijing Women and Children's Center. After a comprehensive evaluation by experts in various aspects such as targets and effect of project and use of fund, the center's serialized social service project passed the evaluation and successfully concluded.

 

According to the report by a third-party agency on feedback for 80 activities sampled, the serialized social service project carried out by the Beijing Women and Children's Center in 2021 covered all the 16 districts of Beijing. According to results from a satisfaction questionnaire and activity measurement and evaluation forms, 97 percent of the activities' participants gave full score in four aspects  target, planning, organizer performance and degree of participation in the activities; 96 percent of the respondents in a telephone interview were very satisfied with the professionalism, attitude of service providers and overall situation of the activity, and the project has accomplished its expected targets and gained social benefits and influence.

 

In 2021, the Beijing Women and Children Service Center leveraged its role in organizing activities with its own characteristics by solving the practical problems of women and children in the aspects of family culture promotion, family education empowerment, parenting guidance, health promotion and marriage guidance. At the same time, the center actively carried out a series of activities, focusing on providing special care to women in new business forms and newly-employed women. Throughout the year, the center, together with women and children's centers in each district and related social service institutions, carried out 655 service activities both online and offline, in the context of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, which directly benefited more than 30,000 women and children. Among them, the "bring dancing to 10 thousand families" activity which was in celebration of the centenary of the Communist Party of China, focused on promoting good family education and family traditions in the new era. The activity received 366 dance works from families in Beijing, with more than 120,000 likes and 190,000 views on the activity's special web page.

 

In addition, municipal and district-level children's libraries actively carried out picture book reading and relevant activities, directly benefiting more than 20,000 women and children, while doing well in epidemic prevention and control. The series of social service project delivered quality public services to streets, schools, and communities and key industries with rich content, professional forms, standardized organization and good targets. The project was expected to achieve good results and had been recognized by the majority of women and children in the capital.

 

In the next step, the center will focus on its new function after the public institution reform and give full play to its role as a comprehensive municipal women and children's service platform. It will collaborate with various departments of the Beijing Women's Federation to gather various social forces, lead women and children's centers at all levels in Beijing, and carry out its activities according to BWF's key work such as the Outline of Women's Development in China (2021-2030) and the Outline on the Development of Chinese Children (2021-2030), the family education promotion law, the construction of child-friendly cities, the policy of easing the burden of excessive homework and off-campus tutoring, the three-child policy, women's action in scientific and technological innovation, and the standardized construction of women's and children's activity centers. The center will be pragmatic and innovative in order to provide precise services based on previous experience to meet the diversified needs of women and children, and make contributions to the development of women and children in Beijing.
