Training Class for Female Sci-tech Talents Held in Beijing

To implement the decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee on promoting scientific and technological innovation, implement the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation: Beijing Actions and improve the abilities of female scientific talents in Beijing, a training class for female scientific and technological talents was held from December 8 to 10. The event was jointly organized by the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Talent Work, and the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, attracting 50 female scientific talents from scientific research institutes, universities, medical institutions, and high-tech enterprises.

 

 

The training class for female scientific and technological talents is held in Beijing.

 

Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of BWF, delivered a speech before the training started. She highlighted the meaning of the training, pointing out that the event is an effective measure to help Beijing build itself into an international scientific and technological innovation center and a talent base and an effort to carry out the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation launched by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF). Zhang urged female sci-tech talents to target the global sci-tech frontiers, serve the main economic battlefields, strive to fulfill the significant needs of the country and benefit people's lives and health. She encouraged them to carry on the spirit of scientist and shoulder their responsibility in independent scientific innovation and strive to build a great cause, champion good social practices and pursue their dreams. On behalf of the BWF, Zhang said women's federations will provide more services and guide female scientific talents to play a more important role in the area of sci-tech innovation in Beijing.

Teachers, including academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, experts and scholars in the science and technology field, gave lectures, covering scientific research methods, talent policies, construction of an international science and innovation center, and construction of Beijing as a benchmark city for digital economy.

 

 

Liu Minhua, deputy head of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Talent Work, gave a lecture on implementing the spirit of the central meeting on talent work and building a top-level talent center.

 

 

Zhang Yulei, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, gave a lecture on improving China's power in science and technology and promoting high-quality development of Beijing in the new era.

 

 

Tong Haiwei, chief engineer of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, gave a lecture on practices of building a benchmark city for digital economy.

 

 

Wang Songling, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a lecture on medical science studies.

 

 

Yang Fude, president of the Beijing Huilongguan Hospital, gave a lecture on paying attention to women's mental health.

 

The class included group discussions on how women can play a bigger role in scientific and technological innovation, and the cutting-edge technology and future development trends in respective fields of trainees. The trainees had in-depth discussions and put forward constructive suggestions and opinions. Five of them shared their learning experience and achievements.
