'Beijing's Most Beautiful Families' Announced

A ceremony to announce the list of the "Beijing's Most Beautiful Families of 2021" was held on December 18 in Beijing. The ceremony was organized by the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the Beijing Office for Cultural and Ethical Progress and the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF). The event was also broadcast via a live-stream platform.

 

During the ceremony, 200 families were announced as "Beijing's Most Beautiful Families of 2021" and 10 of them received special recognition. Among the 10 families, the family of Gu Tieyu and the family of Xie Xiang represent families that show great love for the Party and the country and pass down on good family traditions; the family of Zhang Yibiao and the family of Dou Liguo represent hardworking groups from new business forms; the family of Wang Yuanzhuo and the family of Wang Meng are devoted to scientific and technological innovation; the family of Guo Dandan has actively promoted winter sports; the family of Cheng Zhuo is devoted to philanthropy; the family of Tao Yong is a devoted doctor's family and the family of Li Guangzhe give selfless dedication to rural development.

Through activities in multiple forms, covering family-letter reading, family interviews, interactive performance and original play, the excellence of these families was shown to the public during the ceremony.

The letters of revolutionary martyrs Li Dazhao and Zhao Yiman showed their patriotism and love for families. Xie Xiang read a letter that her mother wrote to her 30 years ago and Jin Ran, a policeman and a participant of a clean family tradition-themed works collection activity, read a letter from his father who is also a policeman.

The short play Community is My Home takes Zhang Yibiao, a representative of employees engaged in new business forms, and Chen Wenqi, a community worker, as the prototypes, and tells a moving story that highlights the exemplary role of the "most beautiful families" in Beijing.

Representatives of the Beijing's Most Beautiful Families jointly announced a proposal that calls on families in the capital to take the initiative to participate in ice and snow sports and to actively spread the spirit of the Winter Olympics.

The activity that looks for "most beautiful families" started in 2014 to thoroughly implement the important speech of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping focusing on family education, and to promote the core socialist values among families. A total of 650,000 households of all levels and types have been selected. In 2022, Beijing will continue to look for model families that love the Party and the country, support the Winter Olympics, and live environment-friendly lives and promote technological innovation.
