The Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a meeting to learn about the municipal plan for women's and children's development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period on January 5. More than 80 members of the BWF Leading Party Members' Group's Theory Learning Group, all cadres of the BWF and heads of the affiliated public institutions participated in the meeting offline, while about 340 cadres of women's federations in 16 districts attended online.

The Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) holds a meeting on women and children's causes.

Liu Ling, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Working Committee on Children and Women (BWCCW), gave a themed lecture. She introduced the most important aspects of the plan for women's and children's development, such as health, education, family, and law. Liu also gave a detailed interpretation on the history, background, goals and measures, features and implementation of the plan.

The municipal plan firmly adheres to the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on women, children and family work and Party Central Committee's decisions. It also matches current policies and regulations concerning the protection of the rights and interests of women and children, the national programs on women and children's development and Beijing's 14th Five-Year Plan. The BWCCW will strengthen leadership and improve its working mechanism to ensure the plan's implementation.

The participants affirmed that the meeting was an interpretation of the municipal plan and helped them have a thorough understanding of the plan and implement it. They are required to make clear work plans and work hard to promote synchronized, coordinated and sustainable development of Beijing's women and children's causes and economic and social development.
