Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and the Party committee of the parcel delivery business in Beijing recently launched a campaign to collect short videos about the building of happy families among workers engaged in new business forms.

During the first stage of the campaign, the organizers collected videos and organized online voting. A total of 50 families made it to the final list and their stories were published on the WeChat account of BWF and the Women Lifetime Learning platform. The stories were shared on people.cn and China Women's News.

As the second stage of the campaign, BWF held an event on August 26 to display the stories of the 50 selected families. The event drew the attendance of representatives of women delivery workers. Also attending were officials from women's federations of 16 districts and the working committee on women of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, staff workers from the working committee for new business forms and new labor groups of the Beijing municipal Party committee and the Party committee of the parcel delivery business in Beijing.

In addition to the release of short videos on the daily lives and work of couriers, three women couriers from Xicheng, Fangshan and Chaoyang districts were invited to talk about their career development, work insights, as well as their understanding and support of family. Women's federations of 16 districts and the working committee on women of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area sent their best wishes to the women.

Liu Yonghe, chief education expert from Marriage & Family magazine, gave a lecture on how to build and safeguard a happy family.

Officials from the Party committee of the parcel delivery business in Beijing said that they became deeply impressed with the positive attitudes demonstrated by women couriers and their sacrifices for their family. They called on women delivery workers to win public respect with high-quality services, create a better life with hard work and wisdom, take part in volunteer activities, and make contributions to the building of a civilized city and the development of social and economic affairs.

Officials from the the working committee for new business forms and new labor groups of the Beijing municipal Party committee noted that women delivery workers have worked hard to create a convenient life. They stayed at their post during the COVID-19 epidemic and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. They made huge contributions to social governance and economic and social development. More efforts should be done to solve difficulties they face in their daily lives, enhance their sense of belonging and identity, and to mobilize them to get involved in grassroots social governance.
