Beijing Women's Federation

The Leading Party Group of the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held an enlarged conference on the morning of October 24, to convey and study the guiding principles of the 20^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which concluded on October 22. Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and President of the BWF, who was also a delegate to the 20^th CPC National Congress, delivered to county-level officials the guiding principles and outcomes of the key Party congress and shared with them her experience and gains from attending the congress. On the morning of October 26, BWF convened a meeting of all its staff workers to study, publicize and implement the guiding principles of the 20^th CPC National Congress, and to promote the implementation of the key points of a meeting for all officials in Beijing.

The 20^th CPC National Congress took place at a critical time, with the Party and Chinese people of all ethnic groups embarking on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing toward the Second Centenary Goals. It held high of the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics and pooled strength, marking a milestone in the history of the Party and the country. The new central leadership of the CPC was elected during the first plenary session of the 20^th CPC Central Committee, which consolidated the core position of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole. BWF will firmly uphold the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, safeguard Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, defend the Party Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership, rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and promote the implementation of the guiding principles of the 20^th CPC National Congress with concrete results.

The report to the 20^th CPC National Congress has charted the course of the Party's work on women and women's federations. BWF will take the study, publicity and implementation of the guiding principles of the key congress as the most important political tasks under the leadership of the Beijing municipal Party committee and adhere to the "five major principles." The federation will grasp the significance of the work done over the past five years and the great changes made in the first decade of the New Era, as well as the great transformation over the past 10 years of the new era in the history of the Party, of the People's Republic of China, of reform and opening up, of the development of socialism and of the development of the Chinese nation; strengthen awareness of the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and the resolve to uphold Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole; defend the Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership, lead and unite women to remain confident in Chinese history and exhibit greater historical initiative; thoroughly understand the worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and thoroughly understand the six principles — putting the people first, maintaining self-confidence and standing on our own feet, upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground, adopting a problem-oriented approach, applying systems thinking and maintaining a global vision. It will use the Party's new theories to arm its self, guide and promote its work; grasp the importance of advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization; evolve around the central task of the Party on the new journey of the new era; have a systematic command of the characteristics and fundamental nature of Chinese modernization, and better understand basic policies and development targets of the Party and the country. It will follow important requirements of pushing for social transformation through self-revolution; carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party, and bear in mind “it is imperative that all of us in the Party never forget our original aspiration and founding mission, that we always stay modest, prudent, and hard-working, and that we have the courage and ability to carry on our fight.” The federation will thoroughly grasp the requirements of forging ahead in unity in the new era, and bolster the morale and fighting spirit of women to break new ground; have a thorough understanding of the expectations of the CPC Central Committee for women and women's federations; follow the requirements of the 20^th CPC National Congress on reform and development of women's federations, give full play to the role of the women's federations as bridges connecting the Party and the people, and make new achievements.
