China Final of She Loves Tech 2022 Global Startup Competition Held Online

The China Final of the She Loves Tech 2022 Global Startup Competition was held online on October 15. With the cultivation and support of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition has become an important platform for women to showcase their sci-tech talents and has been included as part of Beijing’s action plan under the Women’s Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation campaign. With the theme “Daring to Be Female Entrepreneurs,” the competition was designed to encourage women entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities and fuel social development with sciences and technologies in the midst of COVID-19.

The event had 28 sub-competition zones in over 70 countries and regions. A team from Enwise Technology won the China Final of the competition with its commitment to research and development of renewable energy. Enwise Technology will compete with the champions from other sub-competition zones in the final of the She Loves Tech 2022 Global Startup Competition in November.

The entry programs in the competition covered clean energy, the digitalization of supply chains, online education, wearable gadgets and health management, all of which have empowered traditional industries and promoted their digital transformation with sci-tech applications and demonstrated the innovative capacity of women entrepreneurs and their sensitivity to new market demands.

For instance, the team from Enwise Technology used their self-developed fermentation techniques and big data-based remote-control software to transform organic solid waste into clean, efficient and low-carbon renewable energy in a way that reduced the emissions of carbon dioxide and curbed environmental pollution. The team from Zeewain Intelligent (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd developed painless blood-testing chip devices to provide convenient and low-cost blood-testing services. The team from Whole Link Technology adopted AI-based IOTs technology to further optimize supply chains and lower the logistical cost of enterprises. The team from of Beijing Milai Future Education Technology Co., Ltd helped full-time mothers become reemployed and grow into teachers of family education at home with its platforms.

In addition, there were startup teams from British and the Republic of Korea, who launched their business ventures in the fields of online education and nursing and caring services for the elderly. Their participation showed China's commitment to high-level opening up, which brings about numerous opportunities for the entire world and attracts more foreigners to seek their fortune in China.

The China Final of the She Loves Tech 2022 Global Startup Competition invited business executives and famed investors like Afke Schaart, senior vice president of Global Government Affairs at Huawei, to share their stories and experiences and urge women to grasp available development opportunities and tap their potential.

Experts from Zhongguancun Innoway, iAsk Capital, Zhenfund, Microsoft Accelerator and the Tsinghua X-Lab Venture DNA Fund acted as judges and gave their professional proposals to all participating teams at the competition’s China Final. The China Final received support from the Beijing Women Scientists Association and the Capital Women Professors' Association.

BWF will intensify its efforts and take concrete measures to enhance the influence and enrich the functions of the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition, and it will provide global women stronger support in sci-tech innovation and entrepreneurship, and develop the competition into a signature platform while helping to build Beijing into an international sci-tech innovation center.
