BWF Celebrates Int'l Women's Day with Workers from Courier Sector

The Working Committee on New Economic and Social Organizations of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), and the Party committee of express delivery industry in Beijing jointly held a gathering at Beijing Women and Children's Service Center on March 7 to celebrate International Women's Day.

Over 50 representatives of women delivery workers were invited to the event. Some of them, including those who were awarded as the capitals outstanding women strivers and whose families were announced as the capitals most beatutiful families, gave speeches. Participants watched a special video clip which was produced to reflect their daily work. They shared personal feelings and thoughts, sent festive greetings to each other, and participated in traditional crafts DIY activities.

Noting that women delivery workers have made tremendous contributions to the development of both the sector and the capital city and demonstrated their positive energy, Huang Liqun, member of the Leading Party Group and deputy director-general of Beijing Postal Administration, said that the working committee on women of the express delivery industry will promote the establishment of women's federations in companies, give full play to women's unique roles in the development of the delivery industry along with family building, and extend more care to workers. Huang also called on workers to promote high-quality development of the capital city's delivery industry with concrete efforts and wisdom.

Wei Jiang, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group and vice-president of the BWF, conveyed festive greetings and best wishes to all attendees. She said that BWF will thoroughly study, publicize and implement guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, unite and lead women from new economic and social organizations to follow the leadership of the CPC and strive for higher achievements at the workplace, increase their sense of belonging, make full use of all resources available to organize various themed activities, and bolster the building of service centers to ensure that women couriers can easily reach to womens federations and relevant services. She hoped that all women will ignite their dreams with hard work, showcase their unique strengths and endeavor to make higher achievements at the workplace.

For their part, all attendees said that the event helped them feel the love and caring of the country, women's federations, and people from all social sectors, and bolstered their confidence in their future.
