BWF Convenes Training Session for New Cadres of Women's Federations

The Organization Department of the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and the Beijing Municipal School of Women Cadres on August 25 jointly held a training session for newly inducted cadres with the women's federations. The objective was to deepen the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, bolster the cultivation of high-caliber officials in the women's federations, strengthen the capacity building of new cadres with the women's federations in serving women and children, and better adapt to new requirements concerning the work on women and children in the capital city. The training session was attended by 64 new cadres with the women's federations in 16 districts across the capital city.

The training prioritized the study and training of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and underscored important discourses by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping on the work related to women and children and the work of women's federations.

Li Mingshun, a second-class professor with the China Women's University, was invited to speak about how to deepen the study of the discourses by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work related to women and children and the work of women's federations and promote the reform and development of the women's federations. Heads of four functional departments of the BWF introduced the main work of the federation in terms of family building, family education and family traditions, the protection of women's and children's lawful rights and interests, the development of women, and the organizational building of grassroots women's federations.

During their panel discussions, trainees shared with each other their understanding of the work done by the women's federations, exchanged personal thinking, and came up with proposals on further enhancing capacities. Four participants from Changping, Shunyi, Xicheng and Huairou districts talked about their achievements from the training.

The attendees said that the training event was very relevant and practical and that it was of great importance for them to further expand personal horizon and improve their capacities. They added that they will promote their future work with concrete results from the training, show their responsibility and accomplishment in the work for women and children in the new era, and welcome the opening of the 13th National Women's Congress with enthusiasm.
