Beijing Women's Federation

Chinese short-video platform Kuaishou convened a meeting in Beijing on September 6 to mark the founding of its women's federation and the opening of its first women's congress.

Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Group and president of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), and Wang Jiequn, secretary of the Leading Party Group and director-general of Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, addressed the ceremony. Zhao Hongwei, member of the Leading Party Group and vice-president of the BWF, presented the newly-established women’s federation with its nameplate.

The establishment of the women's federation in Kuaishou is a concrete action adopted by BWF to follow the decisions and requirements made by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, and the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) concerning the reform of mass organizations and the building of women's federations. It is also designed to explore new measures in beefing up the guidance and services of the BWF for women in new economic sectors and business platforms.

Over 40 percent of employees in Kuaishou are women. The Party committee of the short-video company has always attached great importance to the work on women. Under the guidance of the BWF and Haidian District Women's Federation, the enterprise founded its own women's federation in a move to help its women employees have more sense of belonging and elevate its women-oriented work to new heights.

In her speech, Wang said that the bureau will strengthen its cooperation with BWF on providing the women's federation of Kuaishou with regular guidance and support. She further called on the newly founded women's federation to bolster its political guidance, deepen its leadership and guidance over women, enhance the sense of services for women, become a platform for women to engage in exchanges, and make full use of its special functions in supporting outstanding employees.

Zhang conveyed congratulations to Kuaishou over the founding of its women's federation. She stressed that the federation should build more consensuses among women employees in the company, lead and guide them to stay loyal to the CPC, deepen the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It should also transform itself into a warm home for women, mobilize women to fulfill their social responsibilities, showcase the positive images of women, promote positive energy and fine social conducts, and make the stories of outstanding families and women in the capital city better known.
