A meeting is held by the Leading Party Members' Group of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) to study the guiding principles of important speech delivered by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping at a meeting with the new leadership of the All-China Women's Federation.

The Leading Party Members' Group of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) on October 31 convened a meeting to study the guiding principles of important speech delivered by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping during a talk with the new leadership of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF). Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the BWF Zhang Yajun presided over the gathering.

The meeting said that Xi's talk with the ACWF’s new leadership has shown that the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached great importance to the cause of women's development and the work of women's federations. Xi’s important speech, which looks at issues from a big-picture perspective, boasts profound thought and conveys inspiring message. It has become a new guiding document for the cause of women's development and the work of women's federations, and laid out fundamental courses and rules for high-quality development of women's affairs.

The meeting said that it is the primary political task and a top priority of BWF and lower-level women's federations in the capital city to study, publicize and implement the guiding principles of Xi's important speech both at the current stage and in the years to come.

First, women's federations should grasp a deep understanding of the significance of Xi's important speech and enhance their sense of responsibility and mission in soundly carrying out the work on women and children. They are expected to thoroughly understand major discourses made by Xi on following a socialist path with Chinese characteristics for women's development, organizing and motivating women to contribute to Chinese modernization, giving full play to unique roles of women in fostering stronger family ties, values and traditions, upholding the lawful rights and interests of women, and continuously deepening the reform of women's federations.

Second, women's federations should precisely grasp the requirement of Xi's important speech on practical actions and firmly adhere to the socialist path with Chinese characteristics for women's development. They are expected to bear in mind their political obligation, bolster cohesion and forge soul with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, acquire a deep understanding of the decisive significance of the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, uphold Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and uphold the CPC Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership. It should align their development with the country's fundamental interests, organize and motivate women to contribute their efforts to the capital city's high-quality development, guide women to carry forward traditional virtue and play a positive role in fostering fine family traditions, take concrete actions to protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, provide disadvantaged women and children with care and tangible assistance, and deepen the reform of women's federations.

Third, women's federations should bear in mind high expectations toward them from Xi in his important speech and promote the study, publicity and implementation of the guiding principles with tangible results. They are expected to follow the overall arrangements of the ACWF, investigate and draft their own study, publicity and implementation plans, hold mass publicity and lecturing activities, and follow the guiding principles of Xi's important speech in both thinking and action to made higher achievements in women’s federations’ work in the new era.

Members of the BWF Leading Party Members' Group related personal work and shared their thoughts about studying Xi's important speech. They agreed that the speech contains great political and ideological importance, expounded fundamental requirements made by the CPC Central Committee on the work for women, and made it clear the basic functions and primary tasks of women's federations. They will study and understand the important speech and highlight the implementation of its guiding principles to unite women in contributing to the capital’s high quality development in the new era.
