The 2024 Beijing Women's Household Service Vocational Skills Competition was held from October 12-13 at the Beijing Vocational College of Labor and Social Security. The event was hosted by Beijing Women's Federation and organized by the college and Beijing Homemaking Service Association.

The household service industry is a practical matter that affects "employment for one person and happiness for two families." The competition, themed "Enhancing Quality, Showcasing Skills, Promoting Employment, and Striving to Become the Most Beautiful Women Homemaking workers in the New Era," focuses on standardized development of the industry. It aims to provide a platform for showcasing talents, exchanging skills and enhancing capabilities.

Beijing Women's Federation, in collaboration with women's federations of Tianjin, Hebei Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Changzhi City in Shanxi Province, organized 26 teams with a total of 156 participants registering for the competition. Among the participants, 64 individuals have a bachelor's degree or above, including two with master's degrees. Participants under the age of 35 account for 25 percent, while those under 45 make up 75 percent of the total. The competition selected outstanding participants in six categories: elderly care nurses, maternity nurses, housekeepers, organizers and storage specialists, household service training personnel, and household managers. These individuals will be recommended to participate in the national women's household service vocational skills competition.

Furthermore, to enhance the comprehensive and professional abilities of participants and household service personnel, specialized training courses in emergency aid techniques and Chinese tea art were conducted during the competition. The aim is to broaden the professional scope of household services and enhance the quality of services.

Beijing Women's Federation views the competition as a new starting point to enhance the brand of women's household services in the capital. It will solidify and improve relevant work, introduce multiple measures continuously, drive the transformation and upgrading of women's household services in the capital, and contribute to the high-quality development of the household service industry with women's efforts.
