In March, the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), from the unique perspective of women, devoted a special report page on its Englishwebsite and a video clip to tell women's anti-epidemic stories and share China's anti-epidemic experience.The section "HER BeijingStories in 2020" of the page has presented plenty ofwomen's personal stories in the nationwide anti-COVID-19 battle, including grassroots women sticking to their posts, women's organizations mobilizingpeople to donate money and goods, women medical workers fighting on the front line, women volunteers taking part in community-based epidemic containment, women protecting their families' health and craftswomen and female artists creating anti-epidemic works.The page has drawn worldwide attention with more than 3.36 million views.

 

The video clip"Wishes for International Women's Day 2020 by Friends from all over the World" features Women's Day blessings and thoughts on gender equality from residents of more than 23 countries, showingpeople's confidence in winning the battle against the pandemic. It was posted on the Facebook and Twitter accounts ofGuangming Daily and on E-Beijing, the English website of the Beijing municipal government,receivingmore than 320,000 hits from world-widenetizens.

 

Those women's stories and the video cliphave beenpopular both in China and among foreign netizens. They have been reposted by more than 200 Chinese media outlets including People's Daily and the China Daily website.

 

Given the challenge brought by the novel coronavirus pandemic, mutual support and concerted efforts of the international community are of great significance. The BWF,aware of the city's role as an international communication center, will continue to share stories and experience of the fight against the epidemic from female perspectiveand in an objective manner, looking forward to prevailing over the coronavirus with mutual assistance of people from the global family.
