The 15th Executive Committee Training Program of the Beijing Women’s Federation Concludes

From May 26 to 27, the Beijing Women’s Federation held a Training Program for the 15th Executive Committee. Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the BWF, delivered the opening speech, which was for mobilization, and presided over the first session. More than 70 executive committee members participated in the training. This program is aimed to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the subsequent plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, thoroughly study and apply General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core discourse on women’s and children’s development and on the work of women’s federations, as well as the guiding principles in his speeches during inspections of Beijing, and further enhance the capacity and effectiveness of executive committee members in performing their duties. 

Zhou Zhijun emphasized that executive committees of women’s federations are a vital force in advancing the high-quality development of women’s and children’s causes in the capital and supporting Beijing’s modernization in the new era. They shoulder the responsibilities in guiding women ideologically, supporting women’s development, safeguarding women’s rights and interests, and fostering sound family values and social civility. Their role is crucial and their responsibilities significant. She expressed the hope that participants transform their learning outcomes into political commitment and performance of duties, know where and how to start women’s federation work and support Beijing’s high-quality development, prioritize the pressing concerns and practical needs of the public, and fulfill their responsibilities with higher standards and more concrete measures. She called on them to unite and inspire women across the city to demonstrate renewed commitment and contribute women’s strength to the capital’s development in the new era.

The training program featured special lectures delivered by experts and scholars of various fields.

Diao Linlin, Professor, Director of the Decision-Making Consultation Department of the Beijing Municipal Party School, delivered a lecture titled Studying and Implementing What General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Highlighted in His Speeches on Beijing Development to Promote High-Quality Development of the Capital. She systematically explained the key principles embodied in General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speeches during his inspections of Beijing, reviewed the achievements of the capital’s development in the new era, and interpreted the goals and tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, providing guidance for BWF in direction, priorities, and implementation.

Liu Chun, Professor with the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), delivered a lecture entitled Earnestly Studying General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Discourse on Establishing and Practicing a Correct View of Political Achievement. His lecture was grounded in questions of “for whom political achievements are pursued, what kind of achievements should be pursued, and how achievements should be achieved,” and he subsequently provided an in-depth analysis of the value orientation, practical approaches, and disciplines that officials shall adhere to in performing their duties in the new era.

Liu Liqun, President of China Women’s University (All-China Women’s Federation Cadre Training Institute), delivered a lecture entitled Delving Into General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Discourse on Women’s and Children’s Development and Women’s Federations’ Work to Promote High-Quality Development of Women’s and Children’s Causes During the 15th Five-Year Plan Period. She offered a comprehensive interpretation of the new circumstances, opportunities, and challenges we are faced with for the women’s and children’s causes during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and accordingly, proposed her ideas, measures, and pathways for better quality, efficiency, and innovation in this field.

Liu Meiyan, Director of the Department of Psycho-Cardiology at Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, delivered a lecture titled Heart and a Healthy China—Health Begins with the Heart. Focusing on women’s physical and mental well-being, she introduced practical tips on emotional regulation, cardiovascular care, and stress management, encouraging executive committee members to care for themselves in both physical and mental aspects, so they can better serve the high-quality development of women and children in the capital.

The training also featured an Executive Committee Forum, where three executive committee members delivered presentations and shared new developments, innovative practices, and achievements.

Jiang Ying, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Internet Court, shared her experience in safeguarding a “clear sky” for minors in cyberspace through warmth and the rule of law. Her presentation focused on three areas: upholding core responsibilities and protecting minors’ online rights and interests through fair and efficient judicial adjudication; promoting coordinated implementation of the “six protections” through judicial protection with stakeholders; and strengthening digital literacy and supporting healthy growth through legal education.

Li Jing, Executive Vice President of the Beijing Womens Association for Science and Technology, introduced the association’s “three verticals and one horizontal” operational framework. They have conducted initiatives such as women-in-science forums, women’s science outreach bases, and the promotion of scientific and technological commercialization, which support female scientists in scaling new heights of innovation and contribute women’s wisdom to the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei International Center for Science and Technology Innovation.

Luo Ping, Vice Chairperson of the Executive Council of the Women’s General Association of Macau, shared how the practice of “One Country, Two Systems” has brought about profound transformation for women in Macao. She described how executive committee members have brought together women in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Macao, pioneered an integrated “Hengqin + Macao” service model, and organized diverse activities in cultural heritage, family education and family values, and rights & interests protection, thereby strengthening patriotism and promoting closer people-to-people ties and integrated development between Beijing and Macao.

Through mutual learning and exchange, participants demonstrated their loyalty, diligence, and enterprising spirit in the new era.

The one-and-a-half-day training program proved substantial and rewarding, combining theoretical depth and political insight with practical relevance and humanistic care. Participants unanimously stated that they would translate what they had learned into concrete action, turning knowledge into new approaches to fulfilling responsibilities, new measures for advancing work, and new momentum for development. With a strong sense of responsibility and mission, they pledged to act with dedication and determination and promote the high-quality development of women’s and children’s causes in the capital during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
