Launch Ceremony for the “Better Life Academy” Alliance and Coordinated Development Initiative Held

To better fulfill Beijing residents’ aspirations for a better life, the Beijing Women’s Federation, in collaboration with the Beijing Silver Industry Association, Beijing City University, and JD.com, jointly launched the “Better Life Academy” Alliance.
Leveraging domestic service as a key driver, the Alliance focuses on improving the quality of life services and enhancing people’s wellbeing. Based in Beijing, it seeks coordinated development across the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region and radiates nationwide. It aims to build a comprehensive service platform that integrates skills training, the cultivation of exemplary women, industry ecosystem guidance, and the promotion of positive lifestyle concepts. Through dedicated and compassionate services, the Alliance is committed to supporting women’s development, safeguarding family wellbeing, strengthening the foundation of people’s livelihoods, and fostering harmonious families and a progressive society in the new era.
On the afternoon of June 30, the launch ceremony for the “Better Life Academy” Alliance and its coordinated development initiative, themed “Focusing on Empowerment for Development, Creating a Better Life Together,” was held at the Zhongguancun Innovation Think Tank Center.
Attendees included Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF); Lei Xiaoning, Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of the BWF; Hao Zhilan, Executive Vice President of the Beijing Silver Industry Association; Gong Yu, Party Secretary of Beijing City University; and Miao Xiaohong, Member of JD.com’s Strategic Executive Committee and Vice Chairperson (concurrently) of the BWF.
Over 100 representatives from relevant government departments, universities, industry associations, and women’s domestic service enterprises participated in the event.
Gong Yu, Party Secretary of Beijing City University, and Hao Zhilan, Executive Vice President of the Beijing Silver Industry Association, delivered remarks, respectively. Chen Pengcheng, Vice President of Human Resources at JD.com, spoke on behalf of the corporate sector. All speakers expressed their commitment to leveraging their respective strengths to jointly support the development of the “Better Life Academy.”
On behalf of the four founding organizations, the Beijing Women’s Federation issued a joint public initiative to build the “Better Life Academy” Alliance, calling for:
First, upholding ideological guidance to encourage women practitioners to be dedicated, professional, and morally upright;
Second, strengthening platform development by building an integrated service hub for education and training, skills competitions, thematic exchanges, and public welfare outreach;
Third, enhancing role model cultivation to elevate professional ride and social recognition within the domestic service industry;
Fourth, attracting and nurturing talent by pooling resources across the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region and nationwide to ensure smooth channels for career development;
Fifth, guiding industry ecosystem development by opening up new pathways for career advancement, promoting equal and mutually trusting labor relations, and empowering better lives through premium services.
During the event, the visual identity of the “Better Life Academy” Alliance was officially unveiled. The Beijing Women’s Federation awarded an official plaque to Beijing City University, and Beijing City University signed a strategic cooperation agreement on in-depth university–enterprise collaboration with JD.com.
Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, emphasized that the Alliance is an innovative community driven by the vision of a better life, anchored in domestic service, and powered by multi-party collaboration. As General Secretary Xi Jinping has noted, “The people’s aspiration for a better life is our goal.” The establishment of the Alliance is a collective response to this defining call of our times.
She urged the Alliance to uphold ideological leadership, stay aligned and build consensus, ensuring that political guidance remains at the core of its development. Emphasizing professionalism and practical service, she called on the Alliance to address the urgent needs of families in the capital and women’s employment demands—empowering women with vocational skills while resolving pressing household concerns in a tangible and accessible manner. Furthermore, she highlighted the need to strengthen collaborative development with a unified, holistic approach, breaking down resource barriers to establish a co-building and sharing mechanism that features shared instructors, joint platforms, collaborative activities, and integrated employment channels.
