A publicity lecture themed on "Women Following the Party, Sci-tech Development Serving the Country", which was hosted by the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and organized by the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), was held on September 28 in Beijing.

With focus on deepening the application of achievements in Party history education and giving full play to model female scientific workers, the activity also aimed to further promote the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation Beijing Actions, which was recently issued by government authorities, to encourage female students to integrate their ideals into the great cause of national development and contribute more to building an international center for sci-tech innovation.

Zhang Yajun, President of the BWF, Zhao Hongwei and Chen Yanping, vice-presidents of the BWF, and Bao Liying, Deputy Secretary of the BIT's Party committee, attended the event. More than 100 representatives from departments and organizations, including the Publicity Department of All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), Beijing municipal Party committee's Party History Study and Education Steering Group and Beijing Federation of Trade Unions and Capital Women Professors' Association, along with BIT teachers and students, attended the lecture.

Bao, first extended a warm welcome to the outstanding female scientific and technological workers in Beijing, and expressed his gratitude to the ACWF and BWF for their guidance and support for the school's development over the years. She hailed the invited speakers as role models for BIT teachers and students, and said that they are outstanding scientists who have been pioneering and persistent in their posts and always bearing the country in their mind.

Bao hoped that all teachers and students will learn from their patriotism, innovative spirit, dedication, team spirit and educational spirit, and become top talents and devote to national development.

Zhao, noted that the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation: Beijing Actions, issued by eight government authorities including BWF, has accelerated the progress of building Beijing into a powerful city of science and technology and an international sci-tech innovation center through stimulating women's strengths. She indicated that the activity is an important measure to study and implement the spirit of the important speech by General Secretary Xi Jinping at a ceremony marking the Party's centenary on July 1 and implementing the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation. It will encourage female scientific workers and students to actively participate in the Action and integrate their love of the motherland and the dedication of the country into realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, Zhao added.
