Beijing Women's Federation hosted the third State-owned Enterprises Open Day on June 10, attracting some 300 local women and family representatives to take part.

The co-organizers were: the Publicity Department of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China; the Capital Office for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress; the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of Beijing; and, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

Further organizers included: Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development; the Information Center of the SASAC of the State Council; Beijing Federation of Trade Unions; and, Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.

The theme of the event was "40 Years On: New Era, New Chapter". Winners of the National March 8th Red-Banner Award and the Looking for the Most Beautiful Families campaign in Beijing were invited, said organizers.

The participants visited several State-owned enterprises, and learned about the great changes that have taken place, and the achievements and contributions the enterprises have made over the past four decades.

Representatives of the "Most Beautiful" families visited Beijing Yiqing Food Group Co. Ltd, where they learned more about the sub-brands Yili and Beibingyang by baking bread by themselves and tasting the products.

Attendees also viewed the works including science and technology specialist medal and the World Expo seal at Beijing Gongmei Group, where staff demonstrated the processing procedure.

The National March 8th Red-Banner holders visited the Party building demonstration sites, and four projects focusing on living an interesting life, digital amusement, intangible cultural heritage and jewelry, respectively, at Beijing Hongqiao Market.

The participants also visited a hairdressing museum in Beijing, where they saw an exhibition of objects and pictures on the development of hairdressing, and learned about the history of hairdressing culture.

Families also visited Beijing Performing Costume Factory, where they communicated with some national level costume-making masters and watched embroidery being produced.

"We have gained a stronger sense of national pride on this special day, and we will learn the self-reliance and self-improvement spirits of State-owned enterprises, and contribute to our nation," said an attendee.
